“No Frills Value”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

I have stayed at the Travelodge at Gatwick central 3 times in the last month and found the Hotel, clean, comfortable and excellent value for money.
If you want something other than just a basic room then its not for you but if you want somewhere that is convinient and close to the airport that offers a clean comfortable bed and a decent shower then you need not look anywhere else.
One other point is don't use the courtesy bus but take the local bus, number 100 that passes the Hotel at regular intervals as it costs less and is just a quick !
If you want to take some time out to go to the movies or shop then Crawley is just 25 minutes away and get a day ticket which is great value too.

I stayed here for one night before a flight out of Gatwick airport, at £17 plus £9.99 for 2 course dinner with a free pint this was great value, when I got here it was a painless check in (self check in machine) the room was huge with a king size bed (the hotel has just been updated) & it was very clean & quiet but in the evening the bar/restaurant was very busy with family's/couples/solo travellers, the food was ok! & the bar prices was between £3.50-£4.00 a pint, after a good nights sleep if your a single traveller don't get the airport/hotel bus at £3.00 it's not worth the money, go outside to the main road (1 min walk) to the local bus stop, every bus which stops here goes to the airport & it takes 5 mins (2 stops to the north terminal & not sure how many to the south terminal) & it's only £2 buses are every 10 mins & 20 mins through the night, but if your a family or a couple with a lot of luggage their are taxis with free phone in reception with a fixed price list, there were 6 off us with 6 bags so we got a mini bus (taxi) to the north terminal for £12 which is same as the bus, it's not worth going somewhere else for a overnight stay because this hotel ticks all the boxes & it's very easy to get to.

After doing a bit of exploring in Europe, I returned to London for one more night before taking a flight home.

I never thought I'd actually find a cheap hotel in London, but this one was inexpensive and great value for the money.

Rooms were basic, but super clean and everything worked perfectly. Short ride to and from the airport by taxi.

Only downside was that there were no Shampoo/Bodywash in the room. The only amenity provided was a minuscule bar of hand soap. So bring your own stuff if you can. However that slight problem would not deter me from staying with them again.

Great service at check in, decent food served at the restaurant (bit expensive.. but that's London eh).

Very convenient for the Airport, with Hoppa buses running regularly for £3. Rooms have the new look, very clean good shower and comfy bed. Ate in the Cafe, we both had the meal deal at £9.95 which included a drink, food good for the price. Staff very friendly & helpful, would definitely use again.

Good value hotel near Gatwick airport. The bus costs £3 per person each way from the airport so factor that into your overall hotel budget. Having said that, we paid £40 B&B so it really was good value. Staff were helpful, room clean and breakfast was ample. On the downside, there was very little water pressure in the bathroom and the room was really very warm, even with the aircon on full blast.

Booked this hotel for it's convenience and value close to Gatwick Airport. I booked a twin room, but ended up with a family room which had a double and a pull-out bed. I had to go down to reception for extra bedding for the pull-out as none was available in the room! The room was big and clean as was the bathroom. Basic but adequate for our stay. I was not as impressed with the cafe-bar which was massive, but had no atmosphere what so ever. We decided to trip advise local restaurants for our evening meal which was a great idea as we did not fancy spending time in the cafe. Same thing in the morning we decided to check-in at Gatwick and then go for breakfast, which turned out to be a great idea as our flight was delayed 1.5 hours. Since we did not try the food then I can't comment on quality, service or value. We did use the bus in the morning from the hotel to the airport, excellent service for £3 each to the terminal front door, but allow 15 mins as there is another pick-up at another hotel before arriving at airport.
