“Looks like they may have closed.”
Reviewed 26 June 2012

We had eaten here before and it was very good value. But when we went to book a table we discovered it had closed 23rd June. We don't know why or for how long.

“EXCELLENT FIND!”
Reviewed 23 June 2012

We have used this restaurant in June 2011 and June 2012 whilst staying in Horley at a B and B pre flight from Gatwick.

Excellent food, freshly cooked with service with a smile. Prices reasonable for the location, given it is Surrey.

One tip though, when we visited on 07 June 2012, the restaurant was closing for a refit so it might be worth checking it is open pre visit this summer (2012).

Enjoy!

“Strange restaurant”
Reviewed 19 May 2012

This is a very strange restaurant .... we've visited a few times and it's always been empty (the busiest I've seen is us and one other table taken).

The food is acceptable, but nothing special.

The service is terrible. The waiters generally ignore you and chat to each other or sit in the corner using a laptop. They are always very keen to get you to leave so they can close up the restaurant.

We don't go here anymore .... if you want a chinese meal in Horley, go to the Blue Lake on Station Road which is lovely.

“Stay Away”
Reviewed 23 January 2012

This restaurant was inspected by the local Food Standards Agency and awarded a rating of 1 on their rating scheme and stated that "Major improvment was necessary."
They have been falsely displaying a FSA certificate with a rating of 4 which means that their food standards are "good."
The FSA have now gone back and have taken the certificate away.

“Good food, great service”
Reviewed 22 December 2011

On our recent trip to Surrey in England, my wife and I found ourselves in Horley and was looking for a good Chinese restaurant. I am glad to say we found the New China in Massetts Road. The public car park was just over the road and was free after 6pm. so parking was no problem.
As far as the restaurant was conserned,if you like Chinese food, I can reccomend it. The service was excellent and the seating comfortable. We chose the new "Buffet menu" at
about 17 pounds, per head. This allows you to eat as much as you like from a very extensive menu, including starters, soups, main courses and sweets, all cooked fresh from the kitchen and not a Buffet as we know it.
Well worth a try, we found it good value.
