It's not a hotel you're going to spend a week at, but for a night it's not bad. The hotel is in a very good location by the airport but it's very 70's and everything is so old.

I would return again as it is good value and it's convenient when waiting for a flight.

We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes at Gatwick airport for the taxi from the hotel to collect us. After being told numerous times the taxi was "on it's way" with many phone calls between us and poor instructions on where he wanted us to wait to be collected, it finally arrived at 12:50am - not a great end to our holiday. It was a mere 3 minute drive to get us back to the hotel. When we arrived, we were told that we weren't booked in and the hotel was full - my friend found the booking number (which had been confirmed via email, the twin room that she booked) and finally our booking was found. We were then shown to our room which turned out to be a double not the twin that we had booked. Very poor service and they need more staff at night. The guy who collected us from the taxi was the same guy who was on reception (which may explain why he took so long). When we returned, there were 2 customers waiting outside the locked hotel doors to get back in. Would not recommend this hotel or ever stay there again. If you want a stress free convenient stop over for Gatwick pay the extra and stay somewhere else.

This is a sister hotel to The Gainsborough Lodge Hotel, also in Horley. I posted a fair review of that hotel a few weeks ago. Myself & a workmate had booked to once again stay at The Gainsborough, had an email confirmation, but due to an admin error there were no rooms for us.
We were transfered to The Gatwick White House. Oh dear! I cannot be as charitable in my review of this hotel. Suffice is to say ... dont stay here unless you have to. The low point for us, and there were a few, was the breakfast . . . no fresh coffee available (instant), inedible sausage etc.
To sum up, if you want a cheap hotel before flying & can "rough it" for a night ... go for it. Otherwise, my advice is to stay away.

I stayed here with my Mum & my sister en route to Scotland, and it's proximity to Gatwick Airport is excellent, plus they provide transport to the airport for 6 pounds. But, aside from the convenience of Gatwick (and the Ye Ole Six Bells pub down the road), this hotel doesn't have too much going for it. The beds were ordinary and the noise from the road made sleep almost impossible. The owners/man behind the desk was quite unfriendly and the whole hotel, whilst looking ok from outside, is fairly outdated and shabby. Wouldn't recommend it for a good nights sleep and comfortable stay.

Room Tip: Get a room on the east side to avoid traffic noise.

Stayed here for one night, it was one night to long. Unfortunately I hadn't done my research but wish I had. Room shabby, small, and a feeling of not very clean. Food was awful, don't like writing bad reviews but have had to be honest. Find somewhere else if you can.
