My group of 6 were heading to a rugby match at Twickenham and rather than stay in the hustle and bustle of London, we decided that Horley would be nicer. I had stayed at the Vulcan Lodge before so the choice was easy.
Karen remembered us from our last visit. She remembered that my partner doesn't like dogs and has hidden hers away for our arrival. She also remembered that on our last visit (4 years earlier) my partner had a broken leg and she enquired about her well being, which was a nice touch.
The rooms were ready and Karen let us know the combination for the front door and checked to see if we needed a taxi to the airport for departure.
The premises aren't a luxury hotel, but the rooms were spotless and comfy. Breakfast was good and hot and at the time we asked for it.
Horley village is five minutes walk and there are a couple of pubs. 2 indian restaurants, a chinese and a tapas bar. Horley train station is 10 mins walk with good connections onwards to Londinium.
I've stayed there before and I'll stay again!
