“Great local theatre”

Archway Theatre Horley

we are rarely disappointed and see all plays put on in the main theatre. (10 per annum) Have seen some brilliant productions and as permanent bookers get very good rates. It would be difficult to better. It is a very friendly little theatre and we have made some good friends there. Great volunteers behind the bar and always an entertaining evening.

A small, local theatre tucked into the arches by the railway station. Very friendly and run by unpaid amateurs who put on some very professional performances. Lovely cosy bar but does get a bit crowded during the interval. They also encourage local children to join their junior workshops, giving them the opportunity to put on their own performances and occasionally join the adult shows.

What a great little local theatre near the railway station under the arches. The Archway put on fantastic productions in their very small theatre. You have to book as its always full to overflowing! It has a small friendly bar, and the whole enterprise is run by dedicated local people. Its a MUST if you can manage to book!

We attend performances at the Archway about 6 or 7 times a year. We also go to other theatres in the area and in London's West End so have some comparisons.
The Archway - as its name suggests - is in railway arches adjacent to Horley station. it is comfortable and compact. The actors are semi-professional and experienced amateurs and the repertoire is wide ranging from traditional to avantgarde.
We saw Heroes, by Gerald Sibleyras translated by Tom Stoppard on 26 February. It was a well acted and achieved an enjoyable balance of humour and pathos. The quality was consistent with the high quality that we've come to expect.
