Well kept pub with outdoor seating, friendly bar staff and period charm. Period pieces give an authentic feel, restored gas light outside, exposed oak and a beautiful beer garden. Quite a local feel which offers inexpensive filling fare - this is not a gastro pub. But much better than the bargain end of the market.
Toilets need updating/some attention - felt like school loos!
3 Real Ale pumps, one of which was off, Greenking IPA and Doombar. £2.29 a pint of Greenking India Pale Ale 3.6% - what's there not to like!
Barmaids attentive and polite, no texting in sight, which makes a change from many pubs these days.
