Was within walking distance of our guest house .The food was excellent and we enjoyed seeing and hearing the Scottish Highlander bagpiper as he led a group of folks to their special dining room.

“The salmon entree was wonderful.”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

This was an optional experience on our recent coach tour of the UK and Ireland. Our group was piped from Stirling Castle to Hermann's. The resident piper entertained us with addressing the Haggis and reciting Robbie Burn's poem Tam 'O Shanter. All very entertaining but the highlight was our Salmon dinner. Service and food were exceptional.

“an okay restaurant and expensive”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

Hermann's food was not bad and service okay too but not really a great restaurant in atmosphere, quality or ambiance. the music played in the background was the WORST of the 60's and 70's. We would not go back.

“Excellent restaurant”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

We visited Stirling Castle on 1st July 2014, parked in the town and walked up the hill. I was thinking of trying to find somewhere for lunch when we spotted Hermanns. The menu on display outside showed 2 courses for £10 lunches and had a reasonable selection but seemed a bit of an odd mix. We went in anyway because my husband was hungry (and he is a bit grumpy when hungry).
The restaurant was empty but was nicely turned out with linen table clothes etc. We were shown to a table and given then menu which had a better selection than shown on the outside board. The waitress answers any questions confidently and took our order efficiently. She did point out there would be a 20 minute delay for the chicken main course my husband ordered.
We had a lovely meal. Husband had duck liver pate with oaty biscuits and a bit of salad and then had chicken as the main with a slice of haggis on top in a lovely sauce. I had pasta with bacon, mushrooms and eggs (sort of a carbonara). Food delicious, service great, nice clean toilets, good price. What more can you ask for? I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Stirling. Don't be put off by how empty it may look, it was outstanding.

“Special Birthday”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Had my Dad's 80th birthday celebration dinner here and had a fabulous time. Twenty adults and six children in the conservatory on a beautiful evening allowing the children to play in the garden to the rear. The staff were polite, attentive and kind, the food was amazing and the drink flowing, excellent value for money. We all had a brilliant night in a wonderful restaurant in a beautiful location in Stirling. Cannot fault it, well worth a visit.
