The 2 of us decided we wanted to have a formal meal in a decent environment on a Saturday evening and we weren't disappointed . It was fortunate we booked the day before because several people who hadn't made a booking were turned away . The restaurant stops serving at about 8.30 pm so a booking is essential .
We both chose dishes from the fixed menu and everything from starter to main course to dessert was very good . The price , too , was reasonable for a white tablecloth restaurant with great food and good service .
If I ever go back to Stirling I'd like to eat there again . I recommend it highly .

Fun evening starting with Stirling Castle views and then a bagpipe march down the hill to Hermann's. The "blessing of the Haggis" was a tourist entertainment but fun! Delicious salmon dinner, highly recommend: great service, great staff !

Really enjoyed my meal here the scallops and black pudding was cooked perfectly and the chicken breast and haggis in drambuie sauce was delightful. Staff friendly and welcoming and good price.

I have no idea the how meal can be here as when we asked for a table (late I must say).
Instead of saying the truth, “the kitchen is about to close” which we would fully understood (it was late for British standards), we were told a lie, that the restaurant was fully reserved, when only two tables were occupied. And all that in a loud voice.
Really misunderstood the concept of a sensibility harmless answer.
Owners please check!

Hermann's is located down hill from the Castle, right opposite the Church of the Holy Rude. We had a wonderful carrot soup (soup of the day) and perfectly cooked salmon. The service was quick and everything about the meal was wonderful.
