Stayed here for 1 night and received a warm welcome when we arrived. We were given a bigger room than expected, that had tea/coffee/kettle, TV, hair dryer, shower gel etc., and there was a big bathroom with shower and separate bath... the room itself was nicely lit, and the bed was comfy. Breakfast offers a lot of options from fully cooked Scottish fry up (bacon, eggs, haggis, sausage etc,) to porridge, home made bread, fruit, cereal, yogurt, juice & plenty of tea & fresh ground coffee. There was even whisky available if you want to spice your porridge up!! Check out time was 10am, but the owner was very flexible letting us leave a little later. He was friendly and chatty.

Most convenient was that we were given a front door key, so there was no curfew - meaning we could go out & explore the city at night and socialise, without worrying about having to get back by a specific time. The location was also close to the castle, supermarkets & major road ways and was easily accessible. There was also some parking on site, though there would only be room for up to 3 cars at a squeeze. Really pleasant stay, and will definitely be back there. Value for money :-)

Hello Showbizwriter, many thanks for taking time to write a fantastic review / rating of your stay here. I really enjoyed meeting you both and hope you can stay again, remember I'm happy to show you some good running / mountain biking routes in the area.
You had Room One which is always a favourite with guests who book it.
Glad you enjoyed the breakfast choice, though I wouldn't advise adding the whisky to your porridge, maybe have a wee nip at night before bedtime....
Always happy to be flexible with check-out times if I can.
Parking is sometimes difficult when I'm busy, but lots of free street parking round the corner from the house, only 30 second walk. I leave my car there all the time and never an issue.
See you both soon.
Cheers
Stuart

I spent a week in Stirling working and I decided to stay at Ravenswood. The decision was very successful because the place has everything you need to feel at your own home and also Stuart the owner helped me in finding another B&B close to Glasgow airport for my return. If i have to come backagain i will repeat for sure.

I have stayed for a few days in Stirling visiting University. I have decided to choose the Ravenswood house form the perspective of its location - in the middle between the University and the town center. I have been really positively surprised from the very first minute where Stuart (the owner) was extremely nice and very flexible person. And I could feel his kindness all my stay there. The rooms (also the other where my colleagues has been accomodated) were very clear and comfortable. Bathroom well equipped and nice and clean. The TV offer of tens of channels and tea and coffe at any time available in room. The breakfast were always fresh and on demand of the guests (that was really perfect!), even beyond the regular breakfast service if requested a day before. The distance to the town center in less than 20 min walk. To the nearest hipermarket it was even closer. Bus stop is just few meters from the guest house, so everybody (active or lazy:)) could find good way of visiting city and University. Assuming - just perfect!

We had a terrible 23 hours long trip becasuse of our cancelled flight. We arrived to Stirling at late night, and at 2 o'clock AM Stuart was waiting for us at the door with a big smile on his face. :))
He woke up as early as we had to go to the course that we particitpated in to give fresh and fantastic breakfast to us. The rooms and the bathrooms was always clean and fragrant. He helped to solve our private problems, for example to get a new luggage from the airport instead of a broken one.
In one sentence: if you visit Stirling, stay at the Ravenswood! :)

An excellent establishment! Good combination of just the right balance between the professionalism of a hotel and the feeling of coming into a homely house. Not to forget, of course, the owner is an amazing guy. Gives great advice on local attractions, recommends trekking paths, the lot. It's pretty much like having an owner that's also a very friendly tourist guide!
