Description: Smiling Jacks is a small, independent Tex -Mex-style licensed restaurant, situated on Stirling's lively Barnton Street. We opened in 1995, and specialize in home-cooked traditional Tex-Mex food, using the best, fresh local produce. The restaurant itself is brightly coloured, with lively music, and friendly staff, which makes it a popular choice for lunch, dinner or an ideal venue for parties & celebrations. Our menu has an extensive range of appetisers, starters, light meals and main dishes. With a great range of Mexican, and other imported beers, premium Tequilas, Wines, Frozen Margaritas and Cocktails a night at Smiling Jacks is always one to remember!

Smiling Jacks is a really gaudy looking Mexican with great food and bizarre paintings (when you visit the toilet you have the joy of three painted mexicans staring at your 'boaby'). I've eaten in here many times and it's still one of my favourite restaurants in Stirling. The staff are always warm and friendly, the food is great and the atmosphere is fantastic as the place is always lively and packed. If you want to eat here during an evening it's recommended that you book in advance, especially if you're looking for a weekend night.

As great as the a la carte menu is with the challenging bucket of bones and whole host of other delicious tex-mex offerings, my two favourite mains are on the lunch menu. The Chilli Chicken Muffins and Chilli Enchiladas are fantastic and the homemade coleslaw that comes as a side is a delight. I would warn people the rice usually isn't great and that the chips are awful, but despite this, the mains are fantastic and you won't be disappointed.

A cracking Mexican, visit it soon.

We have been to Smiling Jacks a few times over the past couple of months and each time has been a pleasure.
The food is delicious and great value for money, as the portion sizes are very generous.
The restaurant itself is small and is very easy to overlook - but once you find it and try it out, chances are you will love it!
It is a welcome change to the chain restaurants, cosy and unique with a team of friendly staff.

One of my all time favourite restaurants!

THE best Mexican food in lovely surroundings. It is quite small so you normally have to book if you are looking for a table at weekends.

I have not always been a fan of Mexican food, mainly because in the UK what is passed off as Mexican is atrocious. Smiling Jacks is completely different. The food is fantastic, the chef hugely enthusiastic and the portions are massive. It's good value too. We had dinner for 4 including mains, starters and drinks for £65. That is great value for such good food.

I highly recommended it, though it's not a big restaurant and you will need to book if wanting to go on a Friday or Saturday. It is a busy place and once you've eaten there, you'll see why.
