“A good start to touring Scotland”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

We arrived here after a long plane flight from Australia. The room was spacious, bed comfortable and refreshing shower and we were ready for that. Annette's B & B is well appointed and the was tariff moderate. We had a lovely breakfast and plenty of it. It is easy to get to, well located for walking although some sights are much easier by car. No hesitation in recommending this to anyone staying overnight or longer in Stirling.

Just returned from 5 nights in the self contained annexe travelling with my sister, the furnishings and fittings were of a high standard and very comfortable and the walk in shower was to die for. The kitchen was well equipped with all the usual plus washing machine and dishwasher. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. I would certainly return here and would recommend it to anyone travelling in this area. Well done Annette, your home and hospitality was second to none.

We stayed here for 3 nights for a rare weekend away from our lives as parents to a 3 year old. I cannot fault this. We arrived not within the normal check in times and Annette made sure we could enter our room. The room was spacious and immaculate. All modern spec. We had breakfast each day and by the final day Annette offered later breakfast for us after I had commented the day before that I didn't want to get up that day because of the rain. We asked for a teapot to use in the room and this was always put back in when the room was cleaned. Annette is very friendly and amazing at making the abbey craig a home from home. We will definitely return an maybe even with our daughter. Don't miss out as book up!!!!!

Returned again to what can be considered home from home. The Annex is top spec as are the rooms within the adjacent B&B. Everything you need, and very comfortable. Beds are superb as is the shower, - 2 things that are very important.
Annette will go out of her way to make your stay comfortable, and is very easy to approach if needed for anything at all.
I will be returning again next year. Every time I return to the area this is the first place I consider, as do my family, and would only go elsewhere if fully booked. Also I have recommended to friends this something I don't do lightly, -believe me!

Our experience was unfortunate and a number of the problems could have been avoided had the owners been in residence at the adjacent B and B. They were though away on holidays leaving their children in charge. ( one was an adult by out at work).

The apartment has been beautifully built and was spotlessly clean. Our issues were more with what was not provided or not working. The internet did not work in the annexe for a couple of days until we were finally able to sort it out by phone and email with the owners. The heating was turned off and the weather turned cold for us. There was no instructions for anything as is usually provided in apartments. We needed extra pillows but again it took a couple of days to locate them.

We stay in self catering apartments a lot on our travels and while some of them have enough kitchen equipment to prepare a christmas dinner for 10 people this one was short of a number of things to prepare a basic meal and clean up - no washing up liquid, a tiny frypan, no clean dish cloth and so on.

The weather was rainy and although there is a dryer in the garage that guests can use, there was no-one home to give us access.

Overall, this apartment could be prefect with a little more attention to things required by guests and not taking bookings when management is not in attendance.

Great room with a clear view of the Wallace monument right out our window. The breakfast was great and the added fruit and bars that where available made for a quick nice snack while touring Stirling castle, the Wallace monument, the distillery and Culross on the river forth

We spent 2 nights at Abbeycraig and hope to spend more nights there soon.
The rooms were very stylish and the finish and furnishings top notch.
There is plenty of parking at the property and more on the street.
The selection of food for breakfast was great and the full-Scottish perfect.
Annette and Norrie were very friendly and gave us lots of advice about places to visit in Sterling and around the area and some good tips for pubs and restaurants.
We ate the first night at the Birds & Bees which is only a 15 minute flat walk from Abbeycraig with a good selection of beers and a good choice of menu, the food was much better than normal pub-fare.
The Saturday night we spent in Stirling centre and walked back to Abbeycraig in 20-30 minutes through built-up areas and at no time did we feel unsafe.
There are a good selection of bars and eating places some with live music.
All the sights of Stirling are close-by and the towns of Bridge-of-Allan and Dunblane are worth a visit.
All-in-all an excellent first visit to the area and a great choice with Abbeycraig.

Room Tip: All the rooms are ground-floor and of an equal quality plus there is a Self-Catering option.
