Owner description: Dominating the skyline for miles around, Stirling Castle is a shining example of Renaissance architecture. Visitors can look out from its high stone walls to the battlefields of Stirling Bridge where great medieval armies clashed to decide the fate of nations. Home to generations of Scottish monarchs including, Mary Queen of Scots, the Castle is an enduring and powerful reminder of our fascinating history.

“Great day out”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

Really enjoyed the castle. Good fun and plenty go do for children. Great opportunity for them to get into the spirit of things and dress up,in costume. Quite a pricey family day out though

“Brings history alive”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

We arrived on a dreary day and were instantly enthralled by the fascinating reconstruction of this medieval castle. With so much to see, you should allow a minimum of two hours, and preferably a half day. It takes little effort to transport your spirit back to the times of Mary Queen of Scots while roaming through the rooms and exhibits. I found the refurbished kitchens especially well done. Definitely worth the trip.

“Lovely castle”

Nicely done self-guided audio tour. Interesting history for the castle and it's inhabitants. Live characters added an extra feature to the tour.

“interesting- one off my tick list- if not a bit expensive”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

£14 each to get in. horrific getting parked-long wait at busy times on a car, we were on motorbikes, so no problems. queues to pay, and even just flash your membership cards very long, as the booth people try to sell each person extra stuff.
we were in Bike gear, and it was a very hot day, so we didn't really do it justice. there are a lot of stairs.
The Military museum made the visit very memorable as it was very very interesting. It has some great views from the walls. The Staff are very knowledgeable, kind & helpful.
it s big enough to not make it busy & crowded even though the car park was full. We walked in the busy cafe & back out when we saw the prices- Costa coffee prices & add more. probably very good though. There are lots of lovely places to have a picnic if you took your own food in
