“Distant Treat.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2011

Great little place based at the Foothills. Slightly out the way but a great location for a lovely quiet lunch or coffee with cake. The Pate and the Mac cheese are brilliant! The cake selection is wonderful, with great views to enjoy. Have been a number of times usually at the weekend - sometimes it is really busy, but waiting isn't really a problem as you can wander around the farm shop.

“Lovely atmosphere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2011

I have been to the Coffee Bothy twice now and have enjoyed every minute spent there, on the first occasion my mother and I each ordered a different soup, both of which were delicious. We were more adventurous on the second occasion ordering a chicken dish with mash, the pavlova and a slice of Victorian sponge cake and everything was fantastic! Their special hot chocolate is definitely worth a try. Be warned though, it is very popular and I would suggest making your way to the restaurant first to let them know you want a table and then browse through the farm store while you wait for your table.

After our meals we took a walk to visit the cows in the neighbouring field.

You should definitely try out this restaurant if you find yourself in the Stirling area.

“Nice home cooking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2011

Been here several times now. I love their soups plenty of it too really thick and chunky. Two choices every time. Pretty speedy service and everyone knows and does their job well. Only small suggestion is the daughter should make eye contact when she takes money at till, especially as its not cheap for a coffee shop. Not enough choice either. But well worth a visit.

“Worth the journey, just for the cakes!”

This is a regular stop whenever we have friends to stay. The fresh sandwiches are very filling and usually don't leave enough room to sample the delicious home baking. The meringues and roulades are worth a visit alone.
