Absolutely brilliant day! All staff friendly, chatty and very informative. I fed the giraffes, mucked out the elephants, met the lions & tigers, fed the lemurs, had cuddles with meerkats, flew an owl and lots lots more. I recommend this to any animal lover as a very special treat

“Amazing day out!!!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Truly an amazing day out for the family. The facilities are fantastic and clean. Plently on offer for everyone. Its set up really well for you to take your own food with plently picnic benches and areas and even a BBQ area. The shows are fabulous our little boy was amazed by the sealion show and the birds of prey show was spectular and informative! Plently to see and do so ensure you go early as you can spend the entire day here. The boat to chimp island is great fun - go early to avoid the queues. One of the best things about the park is that you don't feel like your getting ripped off - its less than 50p for a ride on the fairground attractions. The food and drink is very reasonable. All activities apart from the fairground are included in entry price - boats, boat ride, talks, shows, zip ride etc which makes you feel very valued. If you get your tickets online you save 10% on entry which is very reasonable for what is one of the best days out in scotland. All the animals look happy and have loads of space and activities - they appear to be looked after very well. Overall fantasic park!

“A sad place”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

What a sad place Blair Drummond Safari Park has turned into. My first visit there in over 20 years began badly when the only car entry gate open was unsuitable for single visitors in a British car. I had to get out of my car and walk round to the pay window, no real hardship, simply another example of thoughtlessness by the proprietors.

My visit must have coincided with local school holiday outings. The park was absolutely crammed with coaches, mostly full of very small children, with insufficient supervision. Guess what was happening at the various lavatory locations in the park?

The so-called wild animal reserves are totally under-whelming. I know that wild animals cannot be choreographed to order, however, animals were difficult to spot, if they were there at all. Those animals, which were in evidence, were miserable looking specimens.

Also, why do tethered raptors always look so sad?

The maps of the layout, located at various points through the park, are out of date.

If you want to see wild and exotic animals, and more importantly, if you want to learn something about these animals, I would strongly recommend Edinburgh Zoo which is not too far away, and at least the staff there are all very caring and knowledgeable about the animals in their charge. Better still, try San Diego Zoo if you get the chance.

Blair Drummond Castle looks like a fabulously interesting building. Unfortunately I don’t believe it is open to the general public.

Blair Drummond should not be advertised as a Safari Park. This is showing contempt for the paying public. The presence of a fairground, complete with dodgems, carousel, roundabouts, and other amusements, etc., all in the company of the most dreadful looking cafeteria/restaurant, told me all I needed to know about the priorities of the proprietors. The employment of a Director, or, a management group, capable of turning this facility into something, which could be called a Safari Park, must be an urgent item on the proprietor’s agenda.

A comprehensive waste of time and money.
