Visited here with my 2 teenagers to meet up with a friend & her children. I booked online which gives a discount from the entrance price (Adult £12.60 & Child (3-14) £9.90 each) The online booking is valid up to 30 days.
It was blustery & overcast on the day we visited so my advice would be to pack waterproofs since everything is outdoors.
There is a huge outdoor play area for kids to work off energy & lots of seats/picnic benches for grownups to wait patiently. There is a nice walk past some of the animal enclosures with good information on each exhibit. The boat trip to chimp island is interesting thanks to the skippers chat. There are pedalos available to go on, a flying fox (all free of charge) & back at the main parking area there is a fairground where you have to buy tokens for a ride (reasonably priced). The main wild animal reserve is great to drive through & see animals close up and great you are able to drive through as many times as you wish.
The smaller animal enclosures are lovely to walk around & our only disappointment of the day was the Pets Farm were not allowing you to feed any of the animals. This wasnt mentioned on any literature.
There are several eating areas to choose from (lovely fresh sugared donuts & pulled pork baguette both worthy of a mention!) but it was nice to escape to the restaurant out of the wind for a coffee & slice of traybake.
Finally, pay a visit to the Sea Lion Show. The animals are fantastic & really look like they are enjoying the experience. A great family day out!
