At the bar in the Library recovering from Hogmaneigh the angel Frances provided the coffee. The guests provided the jokes. My lunch at £15.55 including tip completed my rescussitation.
One major complaint. Stuart Bond, the general manager, has neglected to put a piano in the bar!! He must not know excellent pianos are cheap and plentiful at my Underwater Piano Shop, Edinburgh branch. I plan to return at earliest opporknockity with a 19th Century Broadwood cottage upright (£1,200) in tow.

Stayed at hotel on their £29 per room rate, if you spend £70 on food and drink. Works out great value for a room, meal for two and wine. The room was spacious and comfortable, staff very friendly and attentive. Food in the restaurant was lovely, main meals and sweets were divine and the homemade shortbread was to die for.

I also treated myself to a treatment, although I have had better for same price, therapy rooms and relaxation room could do with some updating, the therapist was lovely and the treatment was nice.

All in all I would recommend and would certainly do this deal again, very good value and hotel lovely with lots of character

I booked a superior room on a DBB tariff which also included Afternoon Tea for my wife's birthday, having debated over returning to Dunblane Hydro where we'd stayed previously or trying The Highland Hotel. I read numerous reviews prior to booking and after booking before our trip and found that in the main, the reviews were accurate.

The staff were friendly and attentive in the main, though as i'd read the repenishment of breakfast items was slow and i had to ask 2 staff members for the tea we'd asked for as we'd almost finished breakfast.
Our room was a good size and the decor was ok, bed comfy too. Bathroom nice enough though needing a touch up in places. The walls were thin (as i'd read) and i heard the room next door having a loud chat until 1am but didn't bother us.

The hotel itself has a nice setting and it was nice to get a feel for the history of the building as we walked around the buildings to access different facilities and there are plaques and info about the history of the building. The bar and restaurant area is nice, again parts are in need of decorative upgrading. The afternoon tea was nice and filling too. The evening meal was decent, all 3 courses and the wine finished and there was a good atmosphere in the restaurant.

The spa area was nice enough though the jacuzzi wasn't particularly hot.

All in all nothing particularly or overly negative to say about the hotel or our stay really, though i would suggest this is a good 3 star hotel rather than a 4 star. I dont think we'd ever return, but i wouldn't warn people against staying either as it was value for money...

Just returned from Christmas in Stirling, the hotel, staff, leisure facilities and food were all superb all of which made our Christmas that much more special. They couldn't do enough for the kids and nothing was a trouble, certainly recommend this hotel.

I stay here every Christmas and sometimes during the summer months. The hotel has a great atmosphere especially at this time of year. Good food, clean rooms and free use of leisure facilities. Keep up the good work.

Stayed here for a weekend while visiting Stirling with my brothers. Nice hotel, great service and good breakfast.
The spa area was great after a cold day in the mountains.
Stirling is a small town close to Stirling University.
We enjoyed both the town and the surroundings.
I Think we were very lucky with the weather in November. Cold, but clear sky.
