Stayed for two nights on business. Lovely service from all staff I encountered. Had room service which was very nice both nights. Only complaint was that there was poop in the toilet when I arrived and the window didn't shut properly. An oversight from housekeeping perhaps and the window got reported so will hopefully get fixed. Would definitely stay here again.

Having attended Stirling University, and having lived opposite the hotel for 2 years, I was taken for a weekend stay. Beautiful hotel, excellent breakfast, rooms clean and spacious - windows a bit small but not a worry as this is only a place to eat and sleep! The view at breakfast was amazing! Centrally located so easy to walk into the centre.

A perfect Hotel to see the Castle just a short walk away and easy road trip to Wallis Memorial. Very hilly so a good stout pair of shoes needed. Venues have good information with toilet and drink facilities. All excellent. To upgrade room to include slippers and robes was easy. The setting is just as I expected and we would cetainly go again

I would say the hotel is a 3 star and not a 4, it needs a refurbishment in a few places however this is an old building and understandably fairly hard to maintain. I found the staff to be pleasant but could be a little slow in coming forward with requests. The rooms were great, comfortable and a reasonable size. The free wifi is great once you get connected, give it time as I found it took at least 5 mins for it to connect with your device. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are lovely and we'll worth making use of. Breakfasts are fine, buffet style with the usual selection. I went along with a friend for a conference and on the Saturday night a 3 course meal was part of the deal. This was a really great evening, the tables laid out beautifully and the meal was very tasty. I would definitely stay here again.

Dear LighthouseFanatic,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments after your recent stay. Disappointing that you felt we were 3 stars, your comments would appear to support our 4 star rating.

As you state we are an old building dating back to 1854 and the original building was the High School for Stirling, the building does require a fair bit of TLC but we do a fairly good job of keeping on top of it.

Delighted that you found the time to use the leisure facilities and enjoyed the event on the Saturday night.

Thanks again for passing on your comments.

Regards

We booked into this hotel on the way back to England. It is in a really good location with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. It's very clean and done out nicely. Beds are very comfortable and most of the rooms have a great view. If we stopped in Stirling again we would definitely book this hotel.

This was our first trip to Stirling and our stay was made all the more pleasant by the hotel and the staff.
The management seem to have put together a good team of young and helpful staff happy to help and interact with the guests. The room we had was well appointed overlooking the courtyard of this old school with an interesting skyline over the rooftops of this historic city.
It was comfortable and clean and well serviced during our stay. The food was of very good quality and variety presented with care and enthusiam. While I carried out my work my wife was able to enjoy Stirling as a city and found everyone in the shops to be warm and helpful.
The area has much to see and we took the opportunity while in the area to take in the views and attractions.
The staff seemed pleased with and proud of their hotel and the city.
I would not hesitate to recommend staying here and will do so again as the opportunity presents itself

On arrival our room was dirty. We asked to have it hoovered as there were flakes of dry skin on the carpet. The bathroom had mould around the taps.
We couldn't believe this hotel has a four star rating as the room was very basic and old fashioned.
The staff were all lovely. The breakfast was delicious and the gym clean, pool area lovely.
We would not stay here again

Dear rottybetty.,

I'm sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. As you will see from other recent reviews the fact that your room had not been cleaned properly is a temporary lapse in our normally high standards.

Glad that you found the staff to be lovely and breakfast delicious.

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your comments and please once again accept my apologies for the disappointment we have caused you.
