Went for a spa day with 3 of my friends, hotel is lovely and in a nice location. Also had lunch there which was beautiful. Our treatments were excellent, nice quiet rooms too for them, we were all really pleased. Would definitely go back.

Very nice hotel extremly well located (nearby the castle) The room was comfortable and the staff friendly. The breakfast and the dinner at the restaurant were both excellent. The price is a little bit too high, though (as usual in Scotland).

Stayed 12 nights for Commonwealth Games. Comfortable, top floor Premium room with view over Stirling towards the hills. Helpful and friendly reception staff. We had many early starts and late nights so limited restaurant experiences but what we did have was very good. Excellent breakfast buffet - usually very busy but cheerful and friendly staff kept "topping up". Room service (from bar menu) on two evenings were delivered within the time advised when ordering and were good. My only gripe - and this has been mentioned in previous reviews is the poor WiFi - not attainable in our room and a bit hit and miss in reception (ground floor) and bar/lounge area top floor.

Overall a very pleasant hotel and one I would recommend and would certainly like to return to, as we saw very little of Stirling and the surrounding area.

Stayed for 8 nights during the Commonwealth Games. Stayed in a premium room which was fine, though bed a little too soft. On arrival room really hot. Went down to reception to get a fan but all being used. Window therefore had its security lock taken off and room cooled down quickly. Breakfast fantastic including the local delicacy - haggis. Waiting staff at breakfast very friendly and even remembered our names! Hotel should either buy a fan for each room or install air conditioning. All in all a good hotel close to town amenities.

This hotel is in a fabulous position, high up not far from the castle, you get fantastic views. Each window is like a different picture. The building is an old school with lots of character. The rooms are a good size, very clean and the bathrooms are modern. We happened to be in Scotland when the temperatures were hitting 28/29 degrees and surprisingly, the heated towel rails were on! The beds were very comfortable, quiet rooms and I certainly got two very good nights sleep. The only down side to the room was the heat. Despite being high up, the windows only opened a small amount so you weren't really able to make use of the natural breeze to help cool the rooms. The restaurant is on the first floor, the bar snacks were good, highly recommend the pizzas. The main restaurant served a good selection for breakfast and the staff were very helpful. We ate there in the evening and to be honest, the food was quite bland and the restaurant had no aircon. It felt like we were melting and it wasn't too pleasant.
During the day, we used two of the conference rooms and luckily, these did have aircon which was a welcome relief. Good staff, great building and fab location - I'd definitely go back, but must admit, I wouldn't eat in the restaurant again.
