We booked in March for a one night stay in June and the Tripadvisor reviews then were ok. Lately reviews seem a bit up and down. Booking in was easy though it's obvious that Reception can be overwhelmed as there only ever seemed to be one person manning the front desk and multi tasking like mad. The hotel is in need of refurbishment but our room was pleasant enough if a bit tired. Decent double shower. The beds were comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. One sash cord was broken on our window and the whole frame was in dire need of painting. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the service was prompt and efficient. A smell of cooked food seemed to permeate the hotel - we stayed in room 2 - which one member of the party found unpleasant.
We didn't eat in but there was an amazing 3 course £10.00 dinner offer on and the selection looked excellent.More
