“Gorgeous Lodge - Luxury & Comfort”

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Redcarr Lodge. The lodge is beautifully decorated and had a luxury feel, we felt very spoilt.

Luckily we had good weather whilst staying there and the garden was lovely to sit out in with a glass of wine.

The lodge is really convenient for the centre of Stirling and a few attractions such as the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle. Edinburgh and Loch Lomond, which we visited, are within an hours driving distance.

The welcome package (essentials and some treats) was really well thought through and if you don't have time to go shopping on arrival, you will still have everything you need for the morning.

The bed was particularly comfy and the shower was brilliant.

After sightseeing and walking in the day we looked forward to coming back to the lodge and relaxing.

We really enjoyed the lodge and would definitely recommend it as a great base for visiting Scotland.

Redcarr Lodge was a lovely, comfortable and well appointed house in a great location and, it was dog friendly with a pleasant and secure garden. The Lodge is within easy reach of great tourist attractions in Stirling and locality (the new galleries at the Wallace Monument are worth the visit). We particularly loved our walks on Sheriffmuir and those behind the property at the bottom of the Ochil Hills. Dunblane has a lovely Cathedral and small but different shops. There is a particularly good butcher shop and Deli (James Aitken) in Alloa which is but a short drive away from Redcarr Lodge, but worth it. We had a great stay.

Couldn't ask for better setup, just outside a small village, quiet area. Great place to base yourself if staying a couple stays and want to do some self catering.

“A little gem of a home close to town but in the country”

A lovely home, well located, especially for my access to walks in the Ochils. Very convenient for Stirling and the general area. The home is very well appointed and has all the extras one may expect, and more. Lots of little pleasing touches and a very reliable WiFi system. Unfortunately we never got to sit in the nice garden area or use the barbecue due to the weather. Altogether a very pleasant place to stay with good access and parking.

“Cosy and very comfortable cottage - good place to relax!”

It is a lovely, well-equipped cottage with a wonderful small garden. You are in short distance by car to many interesting places because you are in the centre of Scotland. In the evening you can relax in the garden or the living-room. All of us had enough place to find a bit privacy if we wanted to have.

“Lovely house - But”

This is an absolutely gorgeous house, fixtures and fittings are top quality and there is nothing inside that can be improved. The location in terms of proximity to Stirling and Bridge of Allen is perfect. Local coffee house is within walking distance and there are plenty of really interesting local activities.

The only downside, and for me it is unfortunately a big downside, is the proximity to the main road. The traffic noise was almost constant, so there was no pleasure to be had in the beautiful garden, and I found it difficult to get an uninterrupted night's sleep, but I am a very light sleeper.

“A very quiet place”
Reviewed 13 September 2011 for a stay in August 2011

This house is located in a very beatiful place, although too near to the road ( car´s noise ). The decoration and furniture are nice and the living room with TV, home cinema and internet is very comfortable. The house was clean and full equiped with bed linen and towels.
The check in was a little bit confusing, because we were given instructions about a "key box" in the wall, and when we arrived there wasn´t any box. And we didn´t know how to enter.
The house has a place to park the car beside it, what is very comfortable.

Management Response
23 Sep 2011
Many thanks for your review. Although the property is adjacent to the road it is by no means an extremely busy or noisy road as the new by-pass has taken away most of the traffic. The property is also double glazed so any noise from traffic is at a minimum.
With regards to the key collection- I appreciate that there was some confusion on your arrival however the owner is aware of this and new , clearer procedures have been put in place to eliminate the risk of any confusion arising in the future.
