We arrived just before the Bannockburn Live and Armed Forces Day celebrations, and enjoyed our stay of 4 nights. Reception was welcoming and efficient, and our en-suite room was spacious and clean, apart from a small bag of rubbish overlooked (presumably) after cleaning the room following the previous occupancy! Also, one of the wardrobe's 2 sliding doors was immoveable and had to be taken out! The bed was comfortable and we slept well (except when pigeons on the roof were audible in the early hours)!
Meals were very good quality and sufficient, always served in good time with excellent presentation by cheerful staff, who were also assiduous in removing crockery and cutlery from each course in turn. One exception was our final breakfast, when tables remained uncleared as guests arrived, due it seemed to insufficient staff.
Wifi was provided free in reception, and worked well. Decor was reasonable and the reception area interesting and comfortable.
Two niggles. One was the lift, which usually took a seemingly interminable time to arrive, and although supposedly having room for 7 people, 4 would have been a crush, especially with luggage. This did however encourage us to take more exercise by climbing and descending the stairs! Secondly, both entry to and exit from the car park - controlled by a single barrier with one-way traffic only possible - usually involved a significant time delay. Pushing the 'call' button rarely produced a quick response, and a situation frequently developed where drivers were waiting/queuing to both enter directly from the road, and to leave, simultaneously. You can imagine the difficulty and frustration that sometimes ensued.
