This hotel has a beautiful traditional front, stone-built with a 'golden lion' sign. My bedroom was tiny, exactly as requested for one night budget trip. Very clean bathroom and bedlinen. Stirling is famously noisy on the streets at night, unfortunately. Superb Scottish breakfast with haggis, beans and sausage for me but wide choice including vegetarian options and Scottish marmalade.

We found this little treasure on the web whilst travelling from St Andrews. Our budget was under $150 - it was central, free parking, awesome hot breakfast, super friendly local staff and the room was fantastic. We only needed it for one night, but would have been happy to stay a week. Location was central to the main street. Perfect.

Visited the restaurant on a recent business trip. Nothing but praise for the friendly and very helpful staff. Good choice of fresh food available from the menu. Would recommend and definitely visit again.

The communal areas were lovely and looked nice however the room was outdated and a little shabby. Also as a couple a twin room was underwhelming. Booked expecting a double room with character but recieved tge opposite. Excellent location for going into the centre itself and excellent for the train station. Would stay again but will certainly specify double room.

Last minute booking and great price. Room clean quiet and comfortable. Great location. Love the history of the hotel and lots of memorabilia dotted round public areas. Tv wasn’t working but phoned reception and fault with tv was fixed straight away. Meal in restaurant was faultless and had a lovely comfortable and quiet night. Breakfast included which was great for the price paid, £5 each. Staff polite and helpful so will definitely stay again.
