This was a very nice historic hotel first opened in 1786. In walking distance to many stores, restaurants and bars, and it has free parking in the back, as parking can be difficult to find. There is a nice restaurant with a bar inside the Hotel, and some seating outside. The staff was friendly. Be sure to make the short trip to Stirling Castle and the William Wallace National Monument, where you will see the actual sword of William Wallace from the late 13th century.
