“Fab short break”
Reviewed 1 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Searching at last minute for a booking in central Stirling to celebrate a birthday. Easy to book and find, this lovely apartment ticked all the boxes. Very clean, warm, bright and welcoming. Great views across the Kings Knot & to the castle. A short (though uphill & getting a bit puffed these days) and delightful walk into the city centre via dappled paths or on the flat along the main road. Advice on local restaurants was spot on. Plenty of tourist information to hand. Would love to go back.

“Breathtaking views and excellent location!”
Reviewed 2 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Victoria apartment offered beautiful views of Stirling Castle and King's Knot. Located on a lovely street located conveniently within walking distance to the Stirling town centre. The modern kitchen and washrooms were wonderful, and I would agree with other reviews on here that a new supply of kitchen amenities is required...no small bowls for cereal etc and mismatched utensils. For the most part the apartment is clean, but the carpet in the bedroom requires a good cleaning, as does the throw carpet in the dining room. The mattress in the bedroom is in need of replacement as well. Aside from these complaints, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Victoria apartment, and would return again.

“This flat is superb and the location is wonderful!!”
Reviewed 9 December 2012 for a stay in December 2012

I can´t praise Victoria Apartments enough. I stayed in the one bedroom flat - it was magnificent. Everything is there that one needs, the views of the Castle are breath-taking. The owner (Martyn) was very helpful and friendly. I can whole-heartedly recommend the property !! I´ll definately be back.

“Ideal location with beautiful views”
Reviewed 7 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We enjoyed our stay at the Victoria Apartment at Royal Gardens very much; the well-suited, self-catering unit is ideally situated for walking and enjoying the City of Stirling. The Victoria is appropriately named, the building and the large, high rooms reflect the era. Kitchen/bath/heating facilities which include a gas fireplace are updated and modern; athou the décor may be a little bohemian.
Reservations were easily arranged and Martyn was there to greet us upon arrival. The views of Stirling Castle and Kings Knot are outstanding, combined with the pleasant neighborhood location, and easy access to the City Center makes it an ideal spot to stay, car not needed. A quick Google Earth ‘ride’ through the area sold us on the property, we were not disappointed.

“Great location, beautiful listed house.”
Reviewed 13 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We stayed in the apartment mid September for a week, it was just turning cool. Heating was fantastic. The Victoria apartment is a beautiful listed house, with just a little effort it could be excellent, just a little tired. The views are unrivaled with an outlook towards the Kings knot and Stirling castle, beautiful afternoon sun.
The location is superb, we walked up to the castle, into town, and to go further afield ready access to A9, Perth, also St Andrews and Gleneagles for golfers.
What we really enjoyed was it's proximity to Stirling itself.

“The best flat in town”
Reviewed 9 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This must be the best location in Stirling - steeped in history and a stupendous view of the castle (and the fireworks if you're lucky to catch them!) and King's Knot. Walking trails are right out the door, one up to the castle and one around the golf course in King's Park. The apartment is very comfortable and kept toasty warm. The landlord is very friendly and accessible coming up with extra linens and towels upon request. The flat is also within easy walking distance to the center of town. The house itself is gorgeous. Wifi is limited to the dining room, but that has only served to force me to unplug once in awhile and admire the view from the living area's bay window, and what a view it is.

“Great potential, but..........”

My partner and I stayed in the ground floor 1 bedroom apartment in late May. Our initial impression was great - Fantastic location, only a few minutes level walk to the town centre. The flat itself is in a lovely old building with high ceilings and huge windows looking out over a lovely green park, with Stirling Castle on the hill beyond. Upon closer inspection, however, the apartment left a lot to be desired. The cleanliness was substandard and when pointed out to the owner, the cleaner was blamed. Surely it is the owner's responsibility to ensure the cleaning is of an acceptable standard. We found the window blinds in the bedroom offered privacy, but they allowed the early sun to come streaming into the room, making it difficult to sleep after about 4:30am. The living room is spacious and comfortable and has a great feel to it, not to mention the lovely outlook. The apartment was supposed to have wifi but it turns out you share a modem with the flat next door, so the only internet access is at the big table in the foyer. We found this a real nuisance. It would have been so much nicer to relax in the lovely living room while you surf the net, instead of having to sit up at the table like you were at work. We found the kitchen to be lacking - while the appliances were all fine, there was a rather poor range of mis-matched dishes, utensils etc. Having said all this, the place does have great potential. With a little TLC from the owners (a good clean and some new linen, dishes etc), it could be a really lovely place to stay.
