“Lovely stay at a lovely B & B”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

My wife and I found The B & B on Foders and it was everything we could have asked for and more. Moira and her husband Tony are very nice people. The B & B is also a working farm. When we arrived and given a simple tour of the rooms which are all elegant and nicely furnished. We then were shown to our bedroom which was wonderful. Hugh bedroom and bathroom with TV and a tea service. We were also offered afternoon tea and cakes. The location is great easy to get to the castle and good restaurants.
The West Plean is a relaxing place to spend the night. Just like it's supposed to be.

Booked here for one night during out tour of Scotland. Would have stayed longer had time allowed. It is a working farm situated in a beautiful position a couple of miles outside Stirling. Our room was very comfortable although the furniture was rather old fashioned but in a way that nevertheless seemed in keeping with the country house style of property. Everything was cosy and homely, and Moira is a wonderful hostess - she welcomed us with tea and shortbread. Breakfast was excellent as I can truthfully say we were sorry to leave. Recommended.

Stayed here for four nights in May 2013. We picked it primarily for its location and proximity to several major towns, also found that it was not far to a very efficient train line with regular services to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The fact that it was a delightful homely place to stay was a real bonus for us. We felt more welcome at this bed and breakfast than at any other place we visited - almost felt as if we were welcomed as old friends. We found Moira to be a warm and generous person and very knowledgeable about places to visit and about issues that were affecting the area and Scotland in general - breakfast time was a great time to engage her in conversation and discussion on various issues. Food was fresh, well cooked and presented, and the fact that all guests sat together for breakfast was a great opportunity to meet and exchange information with others. The grounds are extensive with many different walks and sometimes if one is lucky, the odd deer to see. Our bedroom was very comfortable and we had our own bathroom right next door. There was also a large lounge room for guests to use. All in all, a warm rambling country home with great hospitality. Our thanks to Moira for a very pleasant stay and for coming to our rescue with her washing machine. I would certainly stay here again if we visit the area and I have no hesitation in recommending West Plean House to anyone visiting the Stirling area.

We stayed for two delightful nights here. Moira is a wonderful hostess with a warm nature and fabulous sense of humor. The rooms are beautifully and comfortably decorated and furnished. There is a comfortable guest lounge and Moira is generous with coffee and shortbread. She also gave us a piece each of the most delicious lemon drizzle cake.
The property is a working farm and in beautiful, serene surroundings, and guests have the opportunity to venture around the property.
Breakfasts are delicious, and around a shared table where we met and laughed with some lovely people.
We very much recommend this property.

We stayed here in mid-November and had a wonderful one-night stay. Moira greeted us with home-made shortbread and tea and on a dreary, wet afternoon -- it was perfect. Our room was large and comfortable and the bathroom facilities were lush, warm and pristine clean. I wish we had had more time to spend here and would definitely return. Moira directed us to a perfect restaurant. Additionally, this is a wonderful site for daytrips to Stirling and the countryside. Hoping to return.

Room Tip: I think you'd be comfortable in any room here.

I have been staying here regularly over the years and love the peace and quiet here especially with its so useful closeness to the motorway with Stirling and Falkirk close by and Glasgow and Edinburgh a short motorway drive away.
The owners are warm friendly people who have such a knack of making people feel like old friends.
The house is always spotless and cosy in winter in the spring the daffodils are amazing its a bonus to be able to walk around the grounds or even take a jog if you feel like it without ever leaving the boundary's.
Breakfast is something to set you up for the day and is a good opportunity to meet fellow guests from around the world .
It was a lucky break when I was sent here because my original b&b was full and I have stayed at west Plean ever since.

Room Tip: All the rooms are Nice

We stayed 2 nights here in August while visiting Stirling, and this B & B was the highlight of our trip. Set in a working farm, the house feels very rambling and gracious. Our room was lovely and large--high ceiling, huge window, comfortable beds. We loved roaming around the grounds on the many walking paths. Our hosts were so accommodating and served a beautiful breakfast in the charming dining room.
