Popped in for a work dinner. Greeted by bubbly woman who pointed for us where to sit. Got drinks and menus.

Looking at the menu prices I wasn't keeping my hopes up, but breaded mushroom starter, steak pie then dessert afterwards was the choice.

Wine list was slightly disappointing as it was mostly wine you can get in major supermarkets/majestic.

Regardless, starters came out in reasonable time was of good quality, piping hot and enjoyable.

Steak pie. For 7.99 you cannot shake a stock at this. Portion size was huge! Tender steak pieces and a rich thick gravy. Cannot complain in the slightest.

Dessert was great was chocolate fudge cake. Was supposed to be however strawberry meringue. They ran out of fresh strawberries and informed me that the dishwasher was running to the shop to get more fresh strawberries.

Nice to see that they'll run out to the local shop for them and not just say it's not available.

Very impressed with the meal. And service. 40 quid for 3 courses for 2 and 2 softies each was great. I noted there was a 2 course for 7.99 menu that runs at certain times also.

Great food, service and price. Will return if in the area.

Thank Graham M

Stopped off here for lunch in the middle of Bridge. Of Allan. A great find - although very busy a very attentive waitress found the four of us a table after a short wait.
A traditional, family owned pub and really well run. I am sure the waitresses will not mind me saying that the service was good from the mature staff.
Good choice of menu - traditional dishes and snacks available with a special two course menu also available. Great value. A restaurant/bar to be remembered.

We eat there regularly and ate there twice last week. The food is high quality pub grub and is always well cooked and presented. The prices are very good and overall it is great value for money. The only drawback is because it is so good and popular you can often have a 30-45 minute wait for a table.
