“Great food and service”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Went to the Westerton for Mothers Day. Very welcoming and friendly staff. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Myself and my husband opted for roast of the day. The roast beef was fantastic melt in the mouth, a really generous portion accompanied with new and roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud and vegetables. All of which were piping hot and cooked perfectly. My son had a kids meal and he too got a generous size portion. The server was really friendly and attentive and engaged in conversation with my son which really makes a difference. The desserts were all a hit too - chocolate fudge cake, home made lemon meringue cheesecake and tablet sundae were really nice. Definitely value for money and would recommend a visit.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

Went in today for lunch with a friend and two toddlers, which can be daunting at any time!
We were welcomed warmly, and attending to promptly.
The food was fantastic and well worth the money, we both had steak sandwiches and some sides.
Will definitely be back to try the steak pie and lasagne. It was really hard to decide today what to have so I'll need to go back at least twice more!

“Very impressed”
Reviewed 10 March 2014 via mobile

Popped in for a work dinner. Greeted by bubbly woman who pointed for us where to sit. Got drinks and menus.

Looking at the menu prices I wasn't keeping my hopes up, but breaded mushroom starter, steak pie then dessert afterwards was the choice.

Wine list was slightly disappointing as it was mostly wine you can get in major supermarkets/majestic.

Regardless, starters came out in reasonable time was of good quality, piping hot and enjoyable.

Steak pie. For 7.99 you cannot shake a stock at this. Portion size was huge! Tender steak pieces and a rich thick gravy. Cannot complain in the slightest.

Dessert was great was chocolate fudge cake. Was supposed to be however strawberry meringue. They ran out of fresh strawberries and informed me that the dishwasher was running to the shop to get more fresh strawberries.

Nice to see that they'll run out to the local shop for them and not just say it's not available.

Very impressed with the meal. And service. 40 quid for 3 courses for 2 and 2 softies each was great. I noted there was a 2 course for 7.99 menu that runs at certain times also.

Great food, service and price. Will return if in the area.
