If you are interested in the history of Stirling Castle this is interesting - particularly to get a flavour of how even the richest at that time lived in much worse circumstances really than we do now ! Although it is a large house on floor area ! They have found some of the original wall coverings/wall paper which is interesting. So probably this would not be particularly interesting to young children etc but anyone who wants to find out more of the history of Scotland or Stirling should like it and we got a very good guided tour of it.

This is a huge house included in the ticket price of Stirling castle. From the outside it is very impressive but inside there are just three rooms to visit plus virtually empty kitchens. Two rather portly guides are seated in the rooms and will answer your questions but it promised so much and was frankly rather a let down.

This was a cool place to visit. We were actually invited in as we walked by and were very glad that we were. We were just passing by and would not have stopped otherwise and we were very pleasantly surprised.

Thousands probably walk right passed this magnificent town house on the walk back down from Stirlinjg Castle. Luckily one of the custodians was out on the pavement inviting passers-by to visit. A fascinating house with informative displays - a real gem of social history.

Free entry on production of tickets to Stirling Castle. This house has deliberately been maintained in it's original state. You get a real feel for it's history. Only takes 20 mins or so, but nonetheless interesting.
