We dropped by for a family lunch and will definitely be back. The lady who served us was incredibly helpful and friendly. The portions were huge. Leek and potato soup was tasty and the spicy bean burger was one of the best we've ever had. Maybe we were lucky but in our party of 6 there was no bad food or traces of hair in food at all.

I visited The Buchlyvie Inn with friends recently and it terrible from start to finish. First impressions weren't good as it was clear the restaurant hasn't been decorated in many years and it was very cold but we tried to keep an open mind. The staff were pleasant enough but the food certainly was NOT! The so called 100% Aberdeen Angus burger was poorer quality than a McDonald's burger. The homemade chips were greasy yet dry and tasted of nothing but oil. The salad was soggy and the coleslaw purple. As well as this the kitchen is situated next to the seating area so the smell of the deep fat fryer filled the restaurant every now and then. We ordered 2 chocolate fudge cakes for dessert which were just chocolate cake with chocolate sauce poured on the top. Worse than this though, was the 2 hairs found in each of the cakes. We immediately stopped eating and then saw through the kitchen door, a dog's bowl! The hairs may have been human but looked more like an animal's. We will never be back!

I don't quite understand the review posted from 17 March ... we returned again today and once again, couldn't have been friendly or tastier. We had Archie with us and another couple came in after us with their dog, Hamish. We both had the omelette and chips, and once again absolutely delicious. Hubby decided to have a pudding ... jam sponge with custard! Wow, it was huge ... and was devoured by a happy man. Thanks to the hostess and the chef ... we will be back :) :) :)

Went for a late Sunday lunch and we were very disappointed with what was served up. The chips might be handcut but they were greasy and over cooked; the pastry on the steak pie was not properly cooked and the vegetables over-cooked and watery. The portions were a decent size but that didn't make up for the poor quality.

On a positive note the staff were polite and welcoming.

Popped by for lunch, just after 12 noon and they couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. We had our dog Archie with us and again, he couldn't have been made to feel anymore welcome. Water bowl was given and lots and lots of friendly attention. I had the omelette and have to say that it was one of the best that I've ever been fortunate enough to have eaten. BIG portions and homemade chips! Hubby had the scampi and again, well cooked and tasty. Staff are lovely and we will be back. I'm a coeliac and they catered for me without mishap ... lots and lots on the menu to that could be adapted.
