popped in for a wander round Dobbies and decided to have a wee something to eat. decided to share one of the £10 afternoon teas with my friend. person who took our order was very polite and helpful. everything on the afternoon tea menu was lovely, tasty sandwiches, delicious scones and the cakes were yum!!
cannot fault it at all, will definitely be back for afternoon tea!

I echo what other reviewers have said. Tables aren't cleaned nearly regularly enough. Two used and dirty trays have been left on the floor uncollected since I arrived. Staff have just walked passed them several times.
Carpeted area needs a thorough clean, and regular cleaning during the day.
Food was poor-dry looking meat joints, dry chips and cake. Also very overpriced.

This place could and should be much nicer but needs much more effective management.

We only come here for free tea and coffee, as we have a dobbies members card. If it was not for the card then we would steer clear of the cafe as there is always mess, the prices are horrendous and the staff can have some real attitudes towards the members of public. There has been whole cutlery trays empty and not a spoon in sight, ended up on more than one occasion using a fork to add some sugar, which I suppose is an experience in itself. It was great watching the duck parade at one point during the summer though, as staff had left the emergency door open and mummy duck came in with her babies. That had everyone in giggles, with the staff just looking on in confusion.

Arrived at 4.30 with a coach tour which had advised staff when we were there on the 29 th December that we would be returning about 4.30 on the 2nd January no less than 7 times. No hot food,no sandwiches only some cakes left ( this was for 2 coaches ).They struggled to serve us and then at 4.45 it was announced that the store was closing and we had to get out, people were still queuing to get served. We didn't even get time to drink our tea or coffee. Absolutey terrible way to treat customers take our money then throw us out. There is many coaches use Dobbies in different parts of the country and generate a large amount of money and personally I would boycott them all as apart from this they can take ages to serve customers and not geared up for the volume people at one time.

Called in for coffee and cake, good coffee and a superb slice of rocky road, decent size slice as well which is novel. The cafe was really busy but the downside of that was dirty tables not cleaned between customers, dirty floor and crumbs all over the seats. Shame that when they're getting the food right it falls so far short on basic cleanliness in the dining area.
