“Can't get much better than this”

Mallard Cottage is very new and built with high quality materials and fittings, including the kitchen appliances. Wenda, the owner, was a great host, lives a short walk away from the cottage, and a generous welcome package was provided. The bed iwe used was very comfortable with high quality linen. The cottage is literally in the middle of a wheat field and consequently is very quiet, while the views include the Stirling Castle, The William Wallace Memorial and a range of mountains, not to mention a herd of friendly cows. There is a Morrisons supermarket within 5 minutes by car and easy access to the Stirling train station for trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The WiFi is very fast and reliable and there is a smart TV in the lounge area (watch Netflix, etc, on the TV). The fridge was under-counter, but there was a separate under-counter freezer, so there was plenty of space.

Enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights in this lovely self catering cottage. Due to an unexpected back problem we were unable to get out and about to see the sites however the cottage was so well stocked with top notch appliances and comforts of home that it was still an amazing get away. The views were enough to make anything better, simply stunning. The cottage and grounds were spotless and full of fresh flowers. The extra fluffy towels were a lovely surprise as we brought our own not knowing. The home made scones provided were delicious some of the best we have had in years. There were so many extras and special touches that made you know the owner Wendy truly wants her guests to feel spoiled and cared for. Wendy was so nice and made us feel very welcome and at ease. She was helpful with out being intrusive and was always just a phone call away if you needed anything. We will definitely be booking again.

What a wonderful cottage located on the edge of Stirling. Great base for touring. First class pet friendly cottage with great enclosed garden. Outstanding views of Wallace monument and Stirling Castle. Lots of lovely little extras eg welcome pack with essentials, toiletries chocolates and wine. Cottage beautifully furnished throughout. Wendy the owner is very friendly. Would recommend this cottage.

“Fantastic holiday home”
Reviewed 2 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Read previous reviews and was really looking forward to trip. We were not disappointed as Wendy was very welcoming and all her touches of scones, flowers, chocolates, wine etc make you feel really special. Everything in the cottage is to a high standard and the views are fantastic. Just looking for an excuse to go back.

“Stirling's best kept secret!”
Reviewed 31 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

This was our third time to stay at Mallard Cottage! We just love everything about it, so much so I am afraid to give it a fabulous review in case we can't book in with Wendy again! The cottage was spotless on arrival, plenty of fresh towels and the most comfortable bed! Wendy had left us some of her tasty scones and other supplies and Easter treats. I never tire of the view out the window when I am eating or just sitting relaxing and even though the cottage is based down a country lane, you are so close to local amenities and the surrounding beautiful countryside of central Scotland. We will be back some day, but this is the best self catering property we have ever stayed in!

Mallard Cottage is perfect in every way. Lovely welcome, scones etc etc. Beautiful interior, enclosed garden, fantastic views, in farmland but minutes from centre of Stirling. Highly recommended.

“Wonderful cottage”
Reviewed 8 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Beautiful cottage - everything we could have wished for. The views are quite simply stunning. A quiet location but close to everything we needed. The little extras supplied by the owner were a lovely touch and much appreciated. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.
