“Worth a stop in”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

Some interesting history and right next to the castle. It's one of the places John Knox preached and lots of other ties to Scottish history.

Fascinating to see. My husband and I loved seeing the places we have read about in our history books for years.

“Extremely interesting”
Reviewed 3 February 2014

This was once split into two churches when the ministers fell out. But once again it has been opened out many years ago to be one. Lots of interesting history and it is available in multi language papers at the entrance.

“Church of The Holy Rude, Stirling”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

A fascinating church, of cathedral dimensions. A rich historical taste of the times of John Knox, Mary Queen of Scots, and earlier.
Also the church which has Scotland's largest romantic pipe organ, well worth hearing.
The ancient graveyard which is adjacent is an interesting place, with easy access to the Lady Rock from which jousting events were once viewed.

“Amazing walk through history.”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

This church is spectacular. The original church was built in 1129...it burned in 1409 and was then rebuilt in 1414 as it stands today. The construction is amazing, especially the wood ceeling. And the arches are a wonderful representation of the style of the latter part of the middle-ages.

If you get to Stirling, don't forget to visit this church. There is a graveyard behind the building that has gravestones from the year 1100. Amazing to walk through history as detailed by the headstones.
