6 of us had a meal at The Old Chemist Inn last night & we all enjoyed the starters & main meals. We were too full to have a dessert, but next time ...... :-)

We were visiting Saundersfoot for the first time in 50 years and ate here on more than one occasion as it was such a lovely place to spend a warm summer evening. The staff were friendly, attentive and the tasty food came to us very quickly, even though they were busy. The outdoor area at the back where we ate was excellent and led directly onto the beach where you could enjoy a late night stroll. A great way to end a day in the sun.

Food, quite frankly, was very poor. Ordered beef burger and chips, which cost £9.95 !! Burger burnt, bun burnt, chips (which were advertised as being twice fried) were limp, tasteless and unappealing. When food delivered to table no offer of condiments - had to request them. These were brought to our table reluctantly and only one of each condiment (in packets). Felt like we were being ushered through on a conveyor belt. Being crowded means plenty of ker-ching for the owner, but poor service for the customers. Not somewhere I would want to recommend to anyone.

Hello. You did not state in your review when you visited and none of our staff recall a complaint of this nature. If we and been made aware of these issues at the time of your visit we could have done our best to resolve the situation. This is not the standard we work towards and we take note of your feedback. We do as standard serve homemade chips which are blanched at a low heat and then fried at higher heats. We do not however advertise this fact and certainly do not advertise our fries as "twice fried" so I am comfused by this comment and unsure where you saw this?! We have condiments readily available on our restaurant tables, we do however rely on sachets for the outside tables - these are laid out on a table for customers to help themselves to as many as they require. We hope you choose to try us again and experience the good food that the majority of our customers do.

The meals were well worth the money though the fries were disappointing.Presented lovely and outside area to dine made the night as the weather was red hot.
