Llebroodon was a perfect choice for our Spring break. The spacious house is located a very short walk from the centre of the village which makes it very handy for the local amenities. The property is clean and homely and well stocked with essential domestic items. The garden is a haven of peace with a delightful garden house boasting splendid views of the surrounding coastline. Being early Spring we took full advantage of the log burner which provided us with a nice cosy atmosphere in the evenings. Hopefully we wont need this for our return booking later in the Summer! Thank you for providing us with a perfect holiday venue

“Too full of character features for our comfort”
Reviewed 7 April 2012 for a stay in March 2012

If you like character cottages then this would suit you but I made a mistake in booking this cottage as we prefer modern and light. Also the cottage was on a road and the cars were very audible from the front lounge and in the two front bedrooms as no double glazing. The central heating wasn't very effective as couldn't find the thermostat and when we tried the wood burner we were smoked out. Only one toilet meant that the temperamental flush was a bit of an issue.
Having said that the location was great as just a short walk to shops and restaurants and can highly recommend the Marina restaurant on the front. The coast itself was wonderful and despite the cottage we had a great holiday.

Management Response
22 Apr 2012
We are happy that trip advisor allows the owners to respond to the reviews because we do feel that the previous review sets a tone for the house that is totally inconsistent with previous rental responses.

The cottage is clearly advertised as a character cottage. Llebroodon was a miners cottage and is approximately 250 years old, it has been tastefully renovated to a very high standard, it oozes with  charm and character. This is one of the reasons the Welsh tourist board awarded it 5 Star.  I suppose it's a matter of taste, not a fault.

The house is in the village, set on a small, one way road, with a speed limit of 20mph.  All the windows in the house are double glazed.  There is some traffic on the road, but but we have never before had a complaint of this nature.  It is impossible to find a cottage so close to the village and beach that isn't near a road of some description.

The toilet works fine - its been in the cottage for over 100 years, it's an old fashioned chain pull, maybe sometimes needs a second pull - again, nobody has ever complained before.

The log burner works fantastically,   In fact too hot sometimes - I'm guessing the guest just didn't know how to light a fire.

I agree with the reviewer, that if you are looking for a modern, characterless rental, then Llebroodon Cottage is definitely not for you.
