We have visited regularly and find this hotel as a must when visiting the Yorkshire Moors. The accommodation is excellent and the greeting always wonderful. The owners always go out of their way to make one feel special.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent although viewsare best over the valley.

Sevonford House lies at the very heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park: roads fan out from Rosedale Abbey in all directions leading to a wide variety of locations. One visit is never enough to this delightful former Victorian Vicarage which is tastefully and comfortbly funished. Ian and Linda are founts of information and can advise on all the best walks and drives. Importantly for most visitors - there are excellent restaurants/pubs nearby that serve evening meals to suit all tastes. We cannot wait to return.

We spent one night at Sevenford House when we went to see a concert in Dalby Forrest at the end of June (the house is 30 min by car from Dalby Forrest). Very friendly hospitality by the owner who offered us tea and a fantastic coffe cake when we arrived in the afternoon. This is a very charming country house. Good breakfast in the morning and very helpful recommendations from the host who suggested a fantastic road to go to Whitby passing through tiny villages...a real Yorkshire experience!

This is an absolutely gorgeous Edwardian house set in beautiful grounds. If you know the film A Room With A View, it's as if the Honeychurches are taking in guests to Windy Corner! Our room had views across the valley and was very clean. To accommodate our request for a twin room, I'd been warned that one of us would have to be on a put-me-up bed. This was actually very comfortable. There was a guest lounge with comfortable sofas and magazines. There's also a pay phone in the hallway which is a great touch.

Breakfast was amazing with a buffet which included a huge bowl of strawberries. If you want to experience a slice of rural England, this is a great place!

My husband and I recently stayed at Sevenford House for 2 nights, and I can honestly say it is the best B & B we have ever been to.

Right from the onset our hosts Ian and Linda were friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We were offered tea and homemade cake upon our arrival, in the residents lounge, which was a lovely welcome. The house and rooms were spotless, tastefully decorated in a traditional but non-chintzy way. Our room was very comfortable (room 2) and had lovely views over the gardens from windows on 2 sides. It was a nice touch having chocolate truffles in the room for us, and I must say the towels provided were the fluffiest I've used! Breakfast was lovely, nice fresh selection of cereal, granola, fruit, yoghurts etc and the cook breakfast was delicious too.Ian & Linda were happy to cook something a bit different to the traditional full English if preferred (my husband had smoked salmon & scrambled egg). Ian has great local knowledge and was happy to advise us on local walks, and offered to book a table for us to eat in the local pub.

All in all our stay at Sevenford House was perfect, can't wait to go back.
