“The Best Guest House Ever Chris and Heather”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

What can we say our stay was excellent in every way, this was our third stay in four years and hope to return in August 2015. The accommodation is of the highest standard the breakfast nothing less than brilliant. The welcome from Ian and his wife beyond compare, nothing is too much trouble, from booking an restaurant to advising on where to visit. Their local knowledge is outstanding, We received excellent detailed descriptions of places we wanted to visit and how to get there. However the main tributes are from the other guest we have met during ours stays, who return on a regular basics over very many years. It has been said may times it is like visiting family.
The accommodation is set in lovely grounds with nice views in almost every direction, and is an excellent base to visit the many North Yorkshire attractions.

Room Tip: All rooms of a high standard with good views of the surrounding countryside

We have just returned home from our third stay at Severnford, over the past 4 years and will return again in August 2015, then almost certainly make this an annual event for as long as we are able.

The hospitality from Ian and his Wife is fantastic and a cooked breakfast of your own choice, which you don't get that at many places! Their knowledge of the Yorkshire area is 100% and has been extreemley helpful for planning the many trips that we have been on and places visited.

Apart from the above and a lovely peaceful location of the hotel it is great as a 'Base Camp' for visiting places, whether it be the many Seaside locations down the Northsea Coast, travelling the Moors or visiting quaint villages and Towns or place of interest and there are so many! So where ever you want to go, you are still central to many attractions from the Sevenford Hotel.

They treat you like part of the family and Sevenford is a must place to stay, for any Yorkshire adventure you choose!

Room Tip: Because of the quiet location of the hotel any of the rooms will be ok, for a comfortable stay.

We had booked this stay on the C2C on the basis that we could be picked up from Fat Betty but we were at the Lion Inn by lunch. With spare time we decided to walk the 3 miles down to Rosedale village which proved to be an enjoyable exploration of this lovely hidden dale. The accommodation was excellent and our host was very friendly, offering us tea & cake on our arrival. The following morning a lift was readily on offer to take us back up to the C2C. Highly recommended.

Sevonford House lies at the very heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park: roads fan out from Rosedale Abbey in all directions leading to a wide variety of locations. One visit is never enough to this delightful former Victorian Vicarage which is tastefully and comfortbly funished. Ian and Linda are founts of information and can advise on all the best walks and drives. Importantly for most visitors - there are excellent restaurants/pubs nearby that serve evening meals to suit all tastes. We cannot wait to return.

We spent one night at Sevenford House when we went to see a concert in Dalby Forrest at the end of June (the house is 30 min by car from Dalby Forrest). Very friendly hospitality by the owner who offered us tea and a fantastic coffe cake when we arrived in the afternoon. This is a very charming country house. Good breakfast in the morning and very helpful recommendations from the host who suggested a fantastic road to go to Whitby passing through tiny villages...a real Yorkshire experience!
