This is our first visit to this cottage and we will definitely be back. Everything is catered for from linen to hi-fi.You are even provided with a dog welcome pack which had covers to protect the sofas together with a towel for drying. The cottage is lavishly furnished and very contemporary. A nice touch was the Yorkshire teabread with Wensleydale cheese together with tea, coffee, sugar with milk in the fridge. Everything is top end in quality. The surrounding gardens are beautifully kept with each cottage provided with ultra modern patio table and chairs. Which we had breakfast at on the second morning in full Sun, fabulous.

First time we have stayed at Eastgate cottages but certainly not the last.
From the first phone call to enquire about booking, everything was dealt with in a friendly efficient manner by the staff and owners.
The cottage was excellent and provided with everything one could need.
It was very clean and cosy and the bed so comfortable.

We enjoyed the log fire in the evenings, logs supplied.

The welcome tray with Yorkshire cake and cheese was lovely.
It is a few minutes walk into Pickering where you can go on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
A visit to York can be made on the Coastliner bus which stops near the cottages.
A few days spent without using the car.
Pickering is a good base for exploring, so many lovely places to visit.
Near to the coast, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.
Good walking country, lovely village pubs.
Castle Howard is a must to visit.

We were shown around a few of the other cottages before we left.
All are of the same high standard and very comfortable.
All have table and chairs outside and parking.

Room Tip: All cottages are of excellent quality and all have parking.

4th time we have stayed with Eastgate cottages but first in Welburn.
Nice welcome from owner Elaine on arrival, usual Yorkshire welcome pack tea tray, cake and cheese.Even a welcome pack for the dog who we actually decided to leave at home. Cottage is simply top quality in every way, equipment, decor, comfort, attention to detail and cleanliness. The location is superb right near centre of Pickering and close to lots of N Yorkshire places to visit. There is no risk in booking with Eastgate cottages, great location, quality accommodation and good value.

Just returned from a delightful three nights at this lovely cottages. Perfect accommodation, could not fault it; every wish was catered for right down to the welcome pack for the dog. Lovely garden, made lovelier by the beautiful weather over the weekend, the garden furniture was put into good use for breakfast and also drinks and relaxing in the garden.

Cottage was clean and tastefully decorated. Well equipped with plenty of cooking equipment that were of a very high standard. Beds were soooo comfortable!!!

The greeting from Elaine was lovely and the homemade Yorkshire teabread with Wensleydale on the hospitality tray was delicious (the children enjoyed their Easter cake and also the chocolate eggs).

The neighbours were very helpful giving us directions to the supermarket and also other points of interest.

Highly recommend Eastgate Fish and Chip shop (over the road), Friday supper was excellent but be prepared for a queue. Could not find a decent pub though, went to The Royal Oak and a couple of others in the town centre but none were good.

Chico's pizzeria did deliveries and pizza was delicious as was the Indian takeaway from Spice 4 U.

In summary a lovely weekend in a delightful cottage - we will return.

Our fourth stay with Eastgate Cottages - each time a different cottage, before children and with children! We keep returning to Eastgate because we know that we are guaranteed excellent accommodation and service. When family time is so precious, you want to get your holiday accommodation right!

With advice from Helen in the office, we booked Cinnamere this time round. Cosy, very clean and well-equipped for a small family - 2 adults and 2 boys (7 & 5). Welcoming tea and delicious cake, together with Easter cupcakes for the kids, always a nice touch after a long trip - thank you!

The boys loved the long garden, which was well maintained and very pretty - parking at the end of the garden a bonus. The second bedroom is on the compact side, but absolutely fine for two small children. Cinnamere is on Eastgate, set back a little from the main road. The cottage has excellent double glazing and we barely noticed any traffic noise. Cinnamere is a 5 minute or so walk into town, very handy for local shops/restaurants and the NYMR station; it's nice to leave the car at home sometimes.

Pickering is such a convenient base for exploring, yet there's still so much we've not managed to fit in after 4 visits to the area. Favourites this year: Pickering Castle, NYMR (always!), Go Ape at Dalby, and the local swimming pool.

I think we'll be back!

We have been going to Eastgate cottages for some years now and they just get better. This time we were able to make use of the WiFi, available in all the cottages. Because we have a dog we stayed in Hartoft, it has an enclosed garden which is completely escape proof.
On arrival we had a very warm welcome from Elaine, we emptied the car and within five minutes it felt like we were home as we tucked in to tea & cake left by Elaine, very tasty cake, thank you.
There is nothing lacking in the cottages, they are fully equipped with everything anybody could want in a home.
Full use was made of the log fire although the central heating is more than sufficient to keep the place warm, log fires are a bit more fun as long as you don't have to chop the wood. That was in a basket along side the fire with a bucket of coal.
Eastgate cottages are a few hundred yards from the centre from Pickering although sat out in the back garden you wouldn't know it unless you were listening out for traffic. They are very handy for the shops, pubs, restaurants & takeaways so there is no need to cook if you don't want to. If you do want to cook there are no end of Farm shops in the area selling quality produce.
We have stayed in quite a few cottage over the years and Eastgate are one of the best, we will return.
Have a look at the website, booking is easy and if you have any questions then pick up the phone, everyone at Eastgate is very friendly and helpful.
