Lowther House is just perfect. Beautiful surroundings and very tranquil. Approximately 10 minute walk into Pickering. Tula and Paul are fantastic hosts. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean with very a comfy bed and brilliant shower. Nothing is too much trouble for Tula and Paul. We had a perfect stay. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed at Lowther House for 4 nights in March.
We were looking for somewhere quiet to stay that was close enough to walk into the town to enjoy the restaurants but far enough away to be peaceful. We were not disappointed with our choice. The 10 minute walk into town was flat and along a quiet lane, and the position of the house is exceptionally peaceful with only the call of the many owls that reside in the woodland to lull us to sleep.
Tula and Paul were excellent hosts, making us feel very welcome.
We had not expected snow during our visit, but our room was warm and cosy and so waking up to a ‘winter wonderland scene’ was an added pleasure.
We left with happy memories of exploring the woodland behind Lowther House walking on crisp virgin snow!

Beside a small river, with a nice walk up through the woods, and down by the railway line which the steam train takes on the way to Whitby. We parked up our motorhome after a welcome from the hosts. In the morning we had a good breakfast at modest price before continiuing our journey.

My husband & I stayed at Lowther House for 2 nights in May 2012. The new hosts were most welcoming from the minute we inquired about a room. The house is set in a beautiful quiet spot with the Beck river running alongside and you can see the steam train chugging along in the distance. A lovely 3-course meal was prepared for us each evening. We were lucky enough to catch some lovely weather and so ate our meals in the garden. The bedroom was tastefully decorated & we had a lovely view from the extremely comfortable bed.
All in all we had a fabulous time and we would definately stay at Lowther House again.

We had a fantastic time. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The house was clean and tidy with lots of character. The gardens were very quaint with a little stream to paddle in at the back. Perfect for a quiet get away. We had a brilliant holiday.

This bed and breakfast is beautiful. Phil and Elaine who run the bed and breakfast are very welcoming. We turned up unannounced in January and they were fantastic, we have returned since for our mini honeymoon were they welcomed us with some lovely cake and a bottle of champagne in the room. We definately have plans to go back, Phil and Elaine are such great hosts.
