What to do on a damp, foggy day in Yorkshire? A visit to the Great Yorkshire Brewery at the New Inn in Cropton was just the answer. The guide brightened up everyone's day with his enthusiastic descriptions and original explanations of the processes involved in brewing. The tasting session afterwards was full of Yorkshire hospitality and warmth and the meal included in the tour price was delicious.

Ayeup.
The legendary Cropton pub & brewery (as seen on tv)
This has got to be one of the busiest pubs in the whole of Ryedale.
It is renowed for its home brewed ales & rightly so.
Set in its own plot in Cropton village it boasts good food & good ale...100% correct on both fronts.
There is all sorts of beers & ales to choose from...something for everyone.
The food is plentiful & varied.
There are some letting rooms which are very popular at peak times.
They do weekends where they have guest beers, ales, lagers from all over the place that bring their wares to Cropton pub to 'sup', very popular.
Cropton pub is actually known as The New Inn Cropton if you wanted to google it.
Very traditional inside takes you back to when pubs were pubs, no Wetherspoons stuff here!
The Lee family have built this up to be one of the must visit places to have a drink, maybe a bar snack or meal, in Ryedale.
Family friendly with a conservatory attached for the bigger groups.
Good sized car park.
Just 10 minutes out of Pickering & you're there.
Keep up the good work Phil & family.

The tour guide was brilliant. The whole tour took just over an hour and it was very intersting.
The 3 thirds that I tried later were a really good way to end an enjoyable afternoon.
