We stayed just for one night last week and I was a little worried having read some reviews. Yes the carpet needs replacing and the decor is a little jaded - HOWEVER the staff were great, dinner was tasty and the bed very comfortable. It was just for a night and I wouldn't want to stay for a fortnight but I would return if I was exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside again. We didn't have breakfast and I do think for the price especially with all the great KGB deals around it should have been included.

We stayed at the beansheaf last weekend, the hotel was pretty from the outside but unfortunately it went down hill from entering the hotel. the reception carpet was worn and the hotel had a sense of neglect and of a poor standard. we immediately felt we had made a mistake. On entering our room there was a noticeable smell of must and nicotine, the carpet was again worn and unclean, the bedding although white and crisp had a horrible odour. On the positive side the breakfast was better than we anticipated and they did cater for us as vegetarians and our dog too. The staff were also friendly. This hotel has real potential and could be a lovely place to stay if it was lovingly redecorated and restored.

Room Tip: Avoid room number 3

We recently visited te Bransheaf for my best friends wedding.. They got married here and had reception here..
Everything was fab... We had brill day and the staff were helpful and polite... The food was excellent.
I've read few reviews for this hotel and judging by what I've read I am positive that the people who didn't enjoy their stay were in a completely different hotel...
Can't fault the Beansheaf in any way.

We stayed here for one night between theme park trips. The room was spacious and well equiped with plenty of tea and coffee, as well as the free J2Os, hair dryer and iron. The restaurant was very good value for money.
Being just minutes away from Flamingo Land, this was the ideal place for us to stay as we arrived there within minutes of leaving the hotel... which for our excited 3 year old was perfect.
Would definately stay here again!

Just stayed for the Saturday night of the pickering steam fair and found this hotel to be very clean and tidy, the staff very friendly and our room was a good size. I agree with an earlier review about the walls only being thin as I could hear snoring from both rooms either side and as we were near the top of the stairs we also got disturbed by noisy people going down for breakfast this morning. We had a meal here and the food was very good. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would go back if we were in the area again.

A very pleasant over night stay & lovely meal after a long day on the road. A bonus for me was the great selection of beers on offer! Would definately stop here again if I ever return to NorthYorkshire!
