“Excellent experience”
Reviewed 8 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We booked a week break at hog warts cottage. The location is excellent and the cottage is lovely and cosy, clean and welcoming. Everything you need is at hand in the cottage. Pickering itself is a quaint market town full of character. We will certainly be returning.

Booked this cottage through Sykes Cottages , read reviews which were all good as were majority in the book in the property, but i seem to have ended up in the same cottage in another dimension !!. Booked for location which was perfect. thats about where it ended.
on entering , dirty stained carpets, filthly cooker no grill pan , broken fridge so badly frosted could not get anything in ice box and the door to it missing , shelves in fridge door except 1 missing salad box broken , cutlery drawer full of crumbs, chipped broken crockery, bag of dog poo left in back yard, Complained to Sykes Cottages but asked for comments to be forwarded to owner on departure, we booked for the location and it was peak season so unlikely would find anywhere else. This was a MISTAKE , Sykes will take no responsibility as i should have allowed the owner to rectify the problem !!! should have read Terms and Conditions Apparently so no one is prepared to take responsibility for this owner will not offer refund , then sykes on my second phone call said he would offer no more than £40 . I did not want full refund but this was a joke. !! I took phortos and sent them to Sykes they forwarded to owner but I am not allowed to have any feedback on this, Terms and Conditions !!! should have allowed owner to recify during my stay not after i had left !!!!
My advice Dont Book anything with Sykes Cottages !! they only want your money .

Had a Fantastic time here over the Easter weekend. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed. The location is superb and the cottage is very spacious for only two bedrooms. We are hoping to return for the next bank holiday.
