Our sixth year at this glorious hotel and it has beat our expectations yet again.
Greeted with an anniversary card and champagne on arrival. The room was amazing with every last detail thoughtfully included. The food, as always, was sublime whether it was breakfast/dinner in the main restaurant or lunch in the rotunda. We booked for afternoon tea, this year, and will be booking every year from now on! What a treat!
The staff are consistently remarkable year after year. friendly, knowledgeable and professionalism at its best.
Thank you to all at The Midland for making our Silver Wedding Anniversary so very special. ....... Kathryn Myers

Stayed in the Midland as three grown up couples with one dog. Booked special dinner, b&b rate and sea view rooms. Rooms at top of hotel, very sleek, comfortable with balcony and truly wonderful view across Morecambe Bay. Dinner was better than anticipated and whole stay was a delight. If I was going to be picky, and I think the hotel is of a standard where it can well aim to compete with the very best, the staff who were all lovely and helpful, were not quite as sharp as the hotel itself. With a little training and better guidance most could easily move from being very good to being excellent.

Loved our stay at The Midland it's a great hotel, service and staff really good. We opted for a top floor room with dinner for a stop over on our way to Glasgow. The room was lovely great views over the bay (although we didn't see much of the sea) big patio windows with the added bonus of two comfy chairs to watch the changing skyline or sit in the bath and watch the world go by! My only point would be that you must be really close with the person you share the room with as the door to the bathroom does not close all the way.loved the touch of the fresh milk in the fridge though.

Our dinner was excellent lovely friendly girls serving music is very in keeping with the Art Deco decor, only slight criticism is of the rotunda bar does seems a bit grubby don't know why as saw staff cleaning the floor several times.

Just a note on Morcombe it's closed! Tired and sad don't go here to see the town but do go for a great stay at a very interesting hotel.

Room Tip: Worth the extra to go on to the top floor

Dear loopylou49

Thank you for a great review of your stay at The Midland.
As you mention, our Rotunda floor is regularly cleaned although, as the area of this around the bar dates back to the hotel opening and was 'sealed' as part of the hotel's refurbishment, it can appear to be discoloured (something not helped by the very high levels of footfall throughout this area at this time of year)!
Please do not hesitate to ask a member of the team for information on local attractions etc should we have the pleasure of welcoming you back at some point in the future.

Lovely Art Deco Hotel outside lovely staircase reception floor appalling needs restoring properly the mosaic tiles that are missing have been filled with concrete and the edges of this floor dont appear to have been cleaned since the Art Deco period. The floors in The Rotunda Bar are equally dirty shame on the cleaners. We had a reasonable lunch althought Staff not very attentive and did not know what a Bellini was, hard to believe, one of the most famous cocktails of the thirties. This Hotel needs to smarten up in many ways or it will end closing like so many others on our coasts.

Dear Tina D

Thank you for your review.
I was sorry to read that we filed to meet your expectations on this occasion, and indeed that you were unaware of the signage throughout our Lobby detailing our work relating to the original flooring within the hotel.

We started the way of the roses cycle tour from the Midland & what a start... A beautiful hotel, the room was clean and although the decor wasn't to my taste the layout of the room was amazing the tucked away bathroom had a huge shower. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service excellent with lovely views of the sun setting. The staff on reception were extremely helpful and, without asking, filled are cycle bottles with crushed ice and water. Definitely would go back and enjoy the Midland on a more relaxed basis .
