Recently enjoyed a meal at L'Amico. Generous portions - I had a beautiful fettucine salmone and my husband had a delicious pizza. Lovely food and lovely people - we will definately visit again.

nice place and friendly staff, for a quiet night there was plenty of tables and got positioned in not the greatest of tables in front of the counter so asked if we could move which picked a better place and table, there was music playing when we arrived and they didnt start it again when it stopped so lost the atmosphere and the place seemed a tad flat, also find the place could do with candles maybe on the tables just to stop the place feeling so flat. was presented with drinks very fast in a nice manner and then ordered which the food was about right in time of waiting. now the steak was large and covered with prawns and a garlic type sauce which i thought would be great but i just found it really bland, i would have liked a smaller tastier steak as opposed to a large and as i would class as not the best cut of steak ive had so quiet disappointed at paying 25 for it! the veg wasnt that great so when the 50 bill was presented i felt a bit robber for the not so great quality food for the money. might be ok for pizzas and stuff im not sure and ill probably not find out... ill use place round the corner cheaper and better quality by far.

I need to qualify that Italian food is not our favourite, we are really Asian food fans (curries et al) but we do like a change and this was a pre music gig meal.
The decor, comfort and atmosphere is very good, we were the first customers at 6.30 pm with 5 more at 7.pm. New staff were being trained and they were attentive and relaxed, I liked the fact that you could see into the kitchen when walking past,
The food did nothing for us and we probably chose wrong starters to accompany our mains which was pointed out to us afterwards, a tad too late I feel, but it was well cooked and presented.
We find that some restaurants portions are far too large and L'Amico was no exception, to some folk this would be a plus so if you have large appetites this is the place for you.
House wine about £13.00 and a selection at £19.00 +.
I wish L'Amico well, as you can see from other reviews folk do like it but it is not for us.

Have visited this restaurant on a couple of occasions,we have no complaints. The food is excellent, cooked from fresh and you can tell, the chef cooks to your specification,my husband asked for extra garlic and he got it,nothing is too much trouble.Good atmosphere and very chilled you do not feel rushed like other restaurants we have visited. We will be returning to try the pizza as they come highly recommended.Cannot fault the steaks and pasta dishes.
