“Good stay”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

Stayed at the Broadwater Guest House for one night as needed to work in Morecambe the next day.
Unfortunately we was due to arrive a lot earlier at the guest house, but after being held up at an event we couldn't arrive until around midnight. This seemed to be somewhat of an inconvenience to the owners, and we felt as though it was a little bit over-mentioned at breakfast. We did phone in advance to let them know that we would be running late.
However, the overall experience at the Broadwater Guest House was lovely. The room was clean and tidy, although probably in some need of modernisation. The bathroom however was very modern and clean. The bed was comfortable and we had a very peaceful nights sleep.
I would recommend Broadwater Guest House to those wanting to spend a night in the Morecambe area.

Great stay again at Broadwater, this time took parents who thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We all agreed Jean and Alex are great hosts, warm and welcoming, rooms spotlessly clean with comfy beds. Breakfasts are a real joy, something to be savoured, all locally sourced produce, set up for the day. Useful guests lounge to provide somewhere to sit and browse through information on local attractions. Very lucky with Weather so able to hire bicycle for half a day and cycle along coast and canal to Carnforth, beautiful scenery. A perfect place to stay and appreciate Morecambe Bay, hope to return again soon!

On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room (number 7), which was very clean, very comfortable, had everything you could possibly need and more! I won't spoil the surprise that we discovered there but we were pleasantly surprised! The information pack was really lovely, having lots of local suggestions for eating out and nearby attractions but with some personal information about the hosts. We really welcomed the fridge in the room, which came in handy for medications as well as milk! The breakfast was superb, using locally sourced ingredients (with home made marmalade - really good), and cooked to perfection. Parking could be an issue but we managed to park round the corner on a couple of nights and found a space directly outside on our last night. If you are looking for guest accommodation that is really friendly, with a good central location, which is near to the Lakes, then the Broadwater comes highly recommended. It might have got three stars with the AA but we would give it five! We will definitely be back, thank you for a brilliant stay.

Room Tip: Book early to get a sea view room - well worth it.

From the first enquiry to the final goodbye, perfect in every way. Good location on the seafront but far enough away from the pubs and crowds. parking at the back for 50p per 24 hrs. spotless room with fully modernised en-suite shower. Very friendly couple that runs this guesthouse in a professional yet friendly manner. The breakfast was in line with a four star hotel we stayed in last year. prompt table service. Good value for money. Yes we will be back again on our next trip to the area. Great customer service...what more can we say.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the back of the property. The window was open all night. We were not disturbed.

We consulted Trip Advisor for our Bank Holiday accommodation and plumped for the Broadwater. On arrival we were able to park directly outside, and were warmly greeted by our host on entering. Our room, number 3, had a beautiful bay window overlooking the sea and Lakeland in the distance. Absolutely breath taking! As a nice touch there were binoculars on the window sill. The room was large, clean and comfortably furnished. The bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean. Towels and linen were of a high quality and nice touches like bottled water in the fridge, chocolates and glasses with a bottle opener were much appreciated. The residents room was a nice touch, with iron, ironing board and plenty of information on local services, restaurants and attractions. The Broadwater is located at a quiet end of Morecambe, with the centre only a short stroll away. Breakfast was excellent! Everything you could want and a little more besides, like home made soda bread or marmalade. Highly recommended for a short break.

Room Tip: Room 3. Spacious, with a fantastic view of the bay.

Hi Theantiqueco

Thank you so much for the review of your 3 day stay with us. It was lovely meeting you both and looking at the pictures of the items you purchased to take back home with you. We hope it was a successful trip and that if you need to return to buy more that you will think of staying with us again.

We received a very friendly welcome to the guest house and were given advice on where to eat as well as discount vouchers. There were also good facilities such as DVDs to borrow and plenty of leaflets available in the lounge. The room itself had a good view and good facilities such as armchairs, fridge, wine glasses and tea and coffee facilities and a good ensuite. Unfortunately (and by their own admission, due to problems with a leak around the bay window) the wallpaper was stained and the room is in need of redecoration, including the carpet. Also, the mattress and pillows were rather soft and we could hear the next room's TV when we were trying to get to sleep. However, breakfast was great with homemade bread and granola and eggs cooked to perfection as well as proper vegetarian cheese and leek sausages - which are a rare find in a B&B - served on hot plates too!

Hi Dubai 1004

Thank you for taking time to write a review of your stay with us.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that you liked the 'extras' that we provide. and the breakfast. We have taken on board your comments about the pillows and have replaced the ones that have seemed to of gone a bit soft, customer feed back is invaluable to us as we strive to continually improve our service.
With a building that is over 100 years old we are always finding challenges that need looking at and we will really hope that we can find the leak this Autumn so that we can continue with our redecoration programme.
We hope to see you again in the near future.
