Magnificent views of the Bay and Lakes. We saw the tide race in and the rain showers and sun sweep across the lakes. Food was delicious, locally sourced. Service friendly but not sophisticated. Only small down side was it was getting very warm when the sun flooded in through the glass.

Our expectations were high when we visited this restaurant, we have been aware of it for some time. The location is stunning with breathtaking views out to sea on an idilic evening. We rated the food as good rather than great but the main disappointment of the evening was the slow and indifferent service. A 3 course meal took about 21/2 hours to serve - rather too long in our view. We were not offered bread before or with our starter although it plainly needed some! There seemed to be a large number of waiters in evidence but unfortunately they didn't spend much time in the actual restaurant. We and other diners were obliged to get up and go looking for a waiter when things were needed! No one ever asked if our meals were OK before we has actually finished them - so no chance to report a difficiency. Overall we were diappointed, there are better restaurants in Morcambe!

I took my wife here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary as it probably the poshest looking restaurant in Morecambe. The whole night was great the service was fantastic and very helpful. We started in the Rotunda bar with cocktails then had a drink in the main bar which has an amazing feel to it. Then on to the terrace for the food, we both tried something we have not had before and the standard for the food was exceptional, the waitress was very attentive which was good and the whole night was worth it, yes the price is a little high but you get what you pay for.

If there was one thing to possibly change it would be that as it is also a hotel catering for many different people maybe it could be possible for those wishing the fine dining experience to be sat in another part of the restaurant from those just in for a snack

Went to The Midland for afternoon tea for our wedding anniversary. We couldn't fault the food, it was all very nice. BUT the service we received was not up to the standard we would expect. We were greeted at the reception and shown to our table, and handed the menu of the many different teas on offer, and told someone would be along to take our order...We waited at least another 15mins before anyone came, the tea and coffee were delivered promptly.Again we waited at least another 15mins and no food had arrived on our table, but a couple on the next table who were seated 20 mins AFTER us were promptly served .I went to find a waiter and pointed this out, who told me that our food had been put on the wrong table. Eventually we did get our order with an apology.
We later asked one of the staff for our bill, and again waited , on the third request we finally got the bill and paid. There were plenty off staff, so that was no excuse .

Having lived here for some time we decided to come here for my wife's birthday to have Afternoon Tea. The service was perfect as was the tea, the food complimented each other well as did the champagne. It was an experience well worth it something I would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
