“Brilliant night Brilliant food”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

We visited Aspects on a Friday night with my brother and his wife. We were met by a happy bubbly barmaid who showed us to our table (the views across the bay are stunning) We had cocktails and they were well served and delicious. (half price offers on a Friday night) We all had different starters and were informed that we got a free extra starter (Tapas style) in which we had the assorted bread and olives with dips. All the starters were to a high standard and very tasty. I chose the lamb which just fell off the bone and was very tender. The service was friendly and to a very high standard and nothing was to much trouble. We all agreed that our night out was superb and I can defiantly recommend this restaurant We will return for more.

“Good value, tasty food and a great view”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

Aspect Bar & Bistro provides a good option for eating on the sea front.

Good choice of food on the menu to suit all tastes a and reasonably priced. There is also a reasonably priced wine list and cocktails come in at £6 each.

I can't fault my Morecambe Bay Shrimps and Sirloin Steak. My only comment would be it is a shame to get home made chips served with frozen onion rings - why not go the extra mile and make your own.

Staff are very friendly and professional.

We visited off season during the week, so it was relatively quiet. If we had chosen to stay for a cocktail after dinner we would have been the only customers.

I'd definitely visit again if in Morecambe.

“Mothersday with a view”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

We decided to take Mum here for Mothersday as it looked really nice and we had heard many good things about it. On arrival we were greeted by a tall waitress, think her name was June, who took out coats and shown us to our table right in the window. The place was heaving at the time so we hit lucky with booking the right time to get such a good one. The view is stunning here over looking the sea and hills and it was a nice day as well.
June toko ourdrinks order, bottle of Pink for Mum and me and a pint for Dave all delivered quicky. The menu was a set motherday menu 3 courses with lots of choice. I had the Shrimps, Mum had the prawn and advocado salad with Dave having the Muchrooms. Mains we all had the Lamb. The lamb just fell off the bone, never had lamb so tender before it was delisious. It was a little too much for Mum who left some, promptly finished off by Dave. Desserts we had a creme brule a chocolate tart with panacotta which were delisious. The cocolate was a bit rich for me and Mum but Dave ate the whole lot.
The thing that impressed us the most though was the cream scones served with the coffee that really was a nice touch.
It certainly lived up to it's billing and at £18.95 per person it was good value as well, we will certainly be going again and telling friends. It's so nice to see quality in Morecambe, it's needed places like this for years and so glad we came.

“Thank goodness for the chief”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

Just returned from the aspect bar having taken my mum for mothers day this evening. On arrival we were taken to a beautiful window table over looking the bay. However just as my mum was about to sit down she noticed that something had been spilt on the chair and was sticky, so we swaped it. There was more food on the floor than was in the kitchen. We artived at 6.15 so I dont know how many people had eaten at the table before us, but it really off putting, it made the place look dirty. We had original booked a table for 4 but ended up fust the two of us. We asked for water on the table which was duly brought, however when we asked for glasses for the water, we were told just to use the extra wine glasses already on the table, and the waitress looked at us like we had two heads for even asking. The wine we ordered they didnt have so we asked for the next one up (an extra 2 pound) but suggested that we may get it for the same price as the one we had originally ordered, when the bill came we hadnt. Our main waitress kept refering to us as 'you guys', in the two hours we were there she managed to drop most of the cutlery she carried away and poured a pint over somone at the next table. Her uniform was dirty and staff looked like they had all just got out of bed. We had, I think each member of staff serve us at some point. It was difficult to distinguish who was head waitress or manager, but I guess it was one of the women who was wearing a cardi and her hair down. NO attention to detail at all, terriable, terriable service. Its like nobody could be bothered or just had no idea about service, or cared, or even noticed that it was rubbish. This is piped as the top resturant in morecambe and although the food was delicious, the service is of poor standard. This may be because nobody in morecambe expects a decent standered of service and thefore expectations are low, I dont know, but its a shame. Just tidy yourselfs up, pay attention to detail, be friendly, but not over familer, keep the place clean, try not to drop stuff, keep the customer at the heart of what you do (ie if the customer asks for glasses of the water....get them) and smile. Its so important that places like this are at the very least good enough, morecambe struggles as it is without poor service. Please just raise your game just a little.

“very good food, poor background music only fault”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

Visited aspect bar in march 2014, all seav view tables were booked but was offered a nice location with views still. The service was very good and the so was the food. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the steak and beverages were spot on. The place is very clean and a nice setting for a nice meal for two. The Price was good and would return. Ony quibble is the background music isnt set up to good and doesn't give much atmosphere if they fix that they could have a top notch eating place in morecambe and trust me there are only a few.
