and you can eat in too. Perfectly cooked quality food. Very clean cafe. And excellent service. Whilst it's not on the nicest of streets, once through the door it's well worth it. I live a few miles away and have checked out all the competition!..nowhere else comes close. Thank you Atkinsons

Went here as it had decent reviews on her and we wanted done decent fish and chips.
We weren't disappointed. We both had fish, chips, bread and butter, with some curry sauce. We really enjoyed it, the food was lovely and the prices were reasonable.
The service was also good.
I haven't given a full 5 stars as it loses a star on cleanliness. There were some splats of something on the framed football shirt on the wall by where we were sitting, so attention to detail is required when cleaning.

After viewing this place on trip advisor decided that we would eat here to try some fish and chips by seaside. We wanted to eat in the restaurant and did not use the take away service. Restaurant had 3 tables with customers already eating. There was 1 young girl waitressing. Waited to be seated or at least acknowledged this did not come! So we sat ourselves down. The waitress then walked passed us to serve another table and I tried to make eye contact but was completely ignored!!! She then disappeared into the back and after a further few minutes of waiting and reading the menu we still had not been acknowledged. Decided that this was enough and got up to leave. Tried to take as long as possible to put our coats back on to give them time to come and see us. Still no one came and not even sure if they know that we even were in their restaurant on Thursday 17th April. We did not try the takeaway side of business so I can not review the quality of their products

The restaurant was closed so we ordered from the chip shop next door and was not disappointed. The fish was well cooked and the batter not sweaty, but crisp, the chips were ok, but had a lot of eyes and blemish's in them. I also thought the fish portion to be a little small, but it was very good.

The guys cooking them were very polite and professional and it was obvious from the way the even put the vinegar on the meal they had a set way of delivery.

I really enjoyed the food and would go back again - yes. I did think it a little expensive for what it was, but it did not spoil the enjoyment.

My mother, father, myself and 2 daughters used to frequent this restaurant at least twice a month. All of us having a main meal and dessert. We used to love it. However it started to go downhill when the staff was changed and the lady called Bernie was not there. Everytime we would go in it would either be Simply Red or Michael Buble CD playing, which got a little monotinous. We found ourselves sitting at a table for at least 10 mins waiting for someone to take our order. The drinks would come followed by the meals some 10 mins or more later. The staff seem to stand at the till area talking. Several times over last few visits we have had to get up to get some attention, even having to pop our heads into the take away cooking area! Because of this we now tend to go once every few months because the food is still ok (can be greasier than normal sometimes). We have been in again this evening. Well, we couldn't even get in door, we asked if the restaurant was open in the takeaway and they said yes. We advised them we couldnt get in the door, yet we had to go back again after waiting 10mins outside for someone to actually pay attention and come to unlock the yale lock which had somehow locked after a couple of other customers had gone in. We got in to find most of the bigger tables squeaked, also there was a vinegar bottle stain and plate rings and food residue left on the table which had not been cleaned properly. Once our mains were finished we sat for over 15 minutes before actually getting up and asking if we could order desserts. Needless to say the service is far from how it used to be. Which is a shame as the food is okay.
