My partner and I stayed at the Rothbury for a weekend in October 2012. We arrived late on Friday night, getting there about 11pm. I rang ahead to let them know and Gillian and Steven were perfectly accommodating and stayed up to let us in. The room was clean, comfortable and cosy and the whole place has a very homely and warm atmosphere. Breakfast was lovely and both Gillian and Steve were attentive and friendly throughout, making the whole experience very relaxed and enjoyable. I have family in Hartlepool so will be back many times throughout my life and will most certainly have the Rothbury as a 1st choice for future trips. Asha & Aiden from London.

my husband, myself, my son and grandaughter stayed in the Rothbury Hotel for one night to atted a wedding, stephen and gillian made us so welcome, they were very friendly, also very accommodating to my families needs, the hotel position is fantastic, a stones throw away from the beach just across the road, and only a short distance from the town centre. The room was clean fresh and spacious, the en-suit bathroom was spotless The full english breakfast was delisious, with ample alternatives available. I would certainly reccomend the hotel to others. Thankyou stephen and gillian for making our short stay in seaton carew a memorable weekend. Anne-Marie

Lovely position in Seaton Carew. The sea is just on the other side of the road. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfasts excellent. We had a very pleasant stay visiting family in the area and were pleasantly surprised by the really good level of restaurants both in Seaton Carew and Hartlepool. Gill was very helpful with brochures and advice where to go to eat in the evening etc. The Maritime Museum in Hartlepool is super!! We can highly recommend this guest house and will certainly return again. A minor inconvenience is that one has to pay in cash as credit cards are not accepted.

My husband and I have stayed in this lovely guest house twice in the past 12 months and each time we have been impressed by the rooms (spacious, nicely decorated, well-equipped and very comfortable), the location (beautiful views across the sea, down the coast and across to the Headland), the breakfast (extremely tasty and really well cooked) and the warm welcome from the lovely couple who own and run the place.

If you are looking for somwehere relaxing, comfortable and peaceful to stay in Seaton Carew or Hartlepool, at a very reasonable price, I don't think you could do any better than the Rothbury.

We'll definitely be back again!

My wife and I have had a lovely relaxing two night stay at this absolutely great, homely guest house. The room, comfort, cleanliness and food was faultless. Gill and Steve really made us very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. Thanks to Sarah (their daughter) for her very valued help. What a lovely girl. Would certainly stay again and highly recommend. A big thankyou and hope to be back again some day. Anne and Tony Ambler

This was our 3rd stay at the Rothbury after visiting relatives in Seaton Carew for 5 nights, you couldn't fault the hospitality and the standard of the guest house. It is modern and very comfortable. The room was spotless and had everything you needed for a short stay. Very comfortable beds, and showers were cleaned daily.
The flexibility of breakfast was always the highlight of our stay cooked to perfection by Stephen and served by Gillian (the perfect host). The breakfast room has wonderful views of the sea.
Stephen and Gillian are fantastic owners, very friendly and warm. They do have 2 lovely dogs that we never saw except on the last day. We wanted to take them back with us!
We very much enjoyed our stay, and would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a beautiful guest house situated near the beach at Seaton Crewe Hartlepool. The beautiful walks along the sea front was a bonus too! Easy to find and has plenty of parking.

A big thanks to Stephen & Gillian once again.
