We travel to Hartlepool to visit family and usually stay on the Marina as it is close, however this time it eas fully booked so we had to "take a risk" and find somewhere else. The Rothbury is everything its website tells you. Very friendly hosts in Gillian and Stephen and a choice of what you want for breakfast but you have to be up early for a weekend- well it was early for us especially as it followed a late night out!!! Latest time is 9am.
We were lucky enough to be the first ones to stay in the newly converted double en-suite room on the first floor with a sea view and it was spotless. You need to take your own hairdryer as its not a hotel but basics such as tea and coffee are in plentiful supply.
Overall it was a good choice for us and if the weather is suitable it's a pleasant walk along the sea front to the Marina otherwise it's less than a fiver in a taxi. Definitely value for money.More
