This is our favourite for fish and chips, coffee and cake and ice cream - eat in or takeaway. So when we decided to try the expanded evening menu we were over the moon that the choice, food and prices were all fantastic.
The specials were platters of tasters of meat, fish or pies, different but interesting. The seafood part of the menu had a large choice, but so did the non- seafood section. Loads to choose from, everything was good, including of course the fish and chips. Desserts and ice cream were lush. Portions, price and service all more than met expectations. There was also a limited 2/3 course menu for a fixed price.

Not just a Fish and Chip restraunt.
A great place to stop for a snack ( toasted teacakes or Scones are great) during a stroll along the esplanade - Open all year !
Great Sea views

Have been a few times and always been good but on last visit service was really poor had to ask for table to be cleaned not a good start worse was the waitress was not happy at being asked to do so she then wiped crumbs onto the floor which was need of a good clean, not nice in a restaurant really think they need more staff as you have to cue to pay your bill when leaving ,food not as good as it usual ,hope it was just a bad day will visit again as it is normally nice but it will be our last visit if it stays with poor service

Greeted at the entrance and shown to a table. A lovely clean place and nice feeling about the place. Great sea food menu and a good mix of other food such as steak. The staff were very food and spot on with the service. The meal was well presented, and very tasty and was very good value. I will be visiting again.

The Surfside is becoming a regular stop off for us after a long, bracing walk along the beach. Easy parking, a bright, airy, immaculate restaurant offering a variety of delicious meals and snacks. We tend to opt for hot drinks and toasted tea cakes however there is something to suit most tastes - the afternoon tea featured on the menu sounds most appetising at a very good price too, we will sample soon! Staff always pleasant and attentive. Well worth a visit, believe me, you will return.
