“Leave the window open and turn off the heater”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

I seem to have done a little tour of Premier Inns the last few months, Hartlepool Marina being the latest. The standard of the room was better than the others in terms of decor, larger TV and little touches like the purple light around the headboard and I was really quite pleased when we unpacked. My OH is originally from Hartlepool so we know the area well and this is probably the best hotel to stay in with it's great location and lovely views over the marina.

I would've rated this as very good,if it wasn't for the fact that the first of our two nights was unbearable, possibly the worst night's sleep, although there wasn't much sleeping I've ever had in a hotel. The room temperature seems to default to 23.5 degrees and during the night, with 3 of us in the room that rose to a clammy 25.5 degrees. I opened the window, threw off the covers and eventually visited reception at 4am to get cold water....the vending machine was switched off, but the night staff did find me a couple of bottles. It was not a hot day, in fact it chucked it down during the early hours and we had 50mph winds. I think I got around 3 hours sleep. It was not helped by the person in the room above who thought an hour of aerobics at 6.50am on both mornings was the best way to start the day :( Soundproofing between the floors is poor although room to room was strangely really good.

The following day we left the windows opened all day and I switched the heater off at the mains to ensure the thermostat didn't switch on while we were out which helped considerably and we got to enjoy the room on the second night.

On checking out, I did inform the desk when asked how our stay was....the good night guarantee, money back, no questions, no quibbles, what a load of rubbish, I got nothing but a sorry to hear that, bye...

Room Tip: Rooms either side have lovely views of the marina - go for the first floor as the noise from rooms a...

We booked this a few months ago and got a great deal on the room for two nights.

The rooms are well equipped for what we needed and the beds were super comfortable - a pleasant chain for "budget chain" accommodation!

Staff very friendly and helpful and the pub attached was less than ten yards away!

We paid for our breakfast on check in for £17.50 for two - it is well worth it as you have all the choice that includes a full English, cereals, pastries and Costa coffee on tap

The only downside was the restaurant was extremely busy in the morning and did kind of resemble the aftermath of a chimps tea party! The staff did their utmost though to keep on top of it and if anything had run out - you just needed to ask.

We will definitely be staying again!

Myself, husband and a couple of friends stayed here for three nights while sightseeing and visiting family last week.
The hotel is well located in the Marina and a five minute walk from the Maritime Museum.
The rooms were clean and well maintained as one expects with Premier Inn. All the staff we met, both in the Hotel and the attached Brewers Fayre were friendly, helpful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and the one problem we encountered was resolved quickly and effectively. I can recommend a stay here for anyone visiting the area for business or pleasure. We all agreed we will use this hotel again for our next trip.

Room Tip: Rooms on both sides of the hotel have good views over the Marina. Sometimes the rooms facing the Mu...

All members of staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Our children got to take care of the 'premier inn' bears during our stay which they loved. The hotel had recently been refurbished and the rooms were very clean and tidy. Lovely setting overlooking the marina. I would definitely stay again.

Spent three nights at the premier inn Hartlepool Marina with great views of the boats in the marina and out to sea. The room we had has just been refurbished to a very high standard and the refurb was ongoing with other rooms but we saw and heard nothing. We ate breakfast and dinner in the adjoining Brewers Fare with great value for money meals. The hotel is in a great place for visiting the north east coast .The best asset this hotel and pub has is the staff, nothing was too much trouble, from checking in to checking out the friendly reception staff were always on hand with a smile and the same in the Brewers Fare adjoining. We will be making a repeat visit.

Room Tip: All rooms have marina views.
